The author's position was that they thought that the game was great and that a game could be good whether or not you could die. They were really giving their position, and then asking others what they thought as they mention that gamers hadn't pushed back against any other type of health system as much as they seem to push back on this one.
This one is setting up to be kind of odd, I mean I wonder how it will be to play without Clank for most of the game as it look like this will be, I mean in the other ones you maybe got separated for a level or something but never for any really extended time, its going to be interesting to see how they execute that. Can't wait.
I think that Star Wars couldn't have definitely made more use of it. Certain games its every easy to see where its making crazy things possible but in a game like Star Wars it wasn't as obvious.
Those guys at NM get it, I mean the whole its ready when its ready thing is something I wish more developers would say. They want to make it right. Euphoria is way ahead of its time and once developers really start understanding what it can do and leveraging it man its going to completely revolutionize gaming.
Euphoria is sick. The article goes into a good amount of detail about it without making your head hurt and there was a lot of info in there I didn't know. The whole Dynamic Motion Synthesis thing blows my mind though and that was a good interview with the associate producer of Backbreaker.
Consumers wouldn't pay that $59.99 price point though, since there is no middle man, no packaging, no production cost really I don't think consumers would take kindly to those cost being passed on to them when they didnt exist.
I don't know if its yet possible to deliver that level of gameplay like MW2 in a download only title to consoles yet the hardware architecture isn't there yet but its coming. Gaming companies don't seem to understand a lesson they learned in real estate a long time ago, and that is you want to serve the most people for less. Essentially, you can charge $59.99 and move 1 million units or you can charge $29.99 and move 3 million units, which one makes more sense?
In reading the article the author is saying that very recently we have started to see a major jump in the quality of download-only titles like Battlefield 1943, that title is media quality and probably worth more than 15 bucks. It is essentially a poor man's COD online. The author is saying that some day in the future these kinds of titles will supplant the media based ones of today and I think they are right.
No PS3 or Blu Ray disc will play.
In the article they say that it may happen in COD4 and Infinity Ward COD's but nowhere near as frequently. Also if you look at the top of the site, they only cover the PS3 so what do they have to gain by writing stuff about the PS3 if its not true. The article seems to be well written and not biased as far as I could tell.
I for one think that it is true and I don't know why. Its like for as much as we want our games to be as real as possible that only applies to certain characters, there seem to just be some characters who can't change because we won't let them. They remind us of our childhood or something and if I guess we think if they became more complex it would somehow rob us of that.
You are right, a generation of gamers have definitely gotten less patient and developers have gotten stuck in the middle to a degree trying to please us old school guys and the new school at the same time.
Yeah, if you didn't watch all the cutscenes in MGS4 then you really missed something. Now when it comes to RE, at least RE5, I think they needed a reboot of that franchise and I thought that RE5 was a really great example of that, I mean its much harder to make a game scary whe...
I don't think they are taking away anything from MGS4, they just seem to be saying compared to the original MGS games, MGS4 was much less stealthy than some of its predecessors is all. Can you play MGS4 very stealthy, yes, but is that how most people play it, no, at least on the first playthrough is all they seem to be saying. As far as the stealth concept if you read the article they really talk about that and what they were talking about was a game that finds that right balance and they tal...
The dual developer model references having two developing teams work on the title, like Infinity Ward and Treyarch do with COD. It just means that the team that made FIFA 10 won't make FIFA 11 they should already be working on FIFA 12, it essentially extends the development cycle by a year which should really increase innovation from year to year.
Right now according to VGreleases it seems like their is an Oct 2 release for Europe and the 19th date for the US but those dates may ...
I am really intrigued about this Max Payne is that he is so much more rugged than before. Rockstar really is taking a chance without reinventing the series like this, but that's what I love about them they aren't afraid to push the limits and to take a character out of his element and in Sal Paulo is much different then than the dark streets of NY, I like this new direction personally.
I know Sony hasn't even updated there site but I assure you I am now running firmware version 2.80.
The one thing we love is a team that never gets satisfied with their work, that always strives to be better and that is what the team that works on FIFA does, gotta love it. Now if only we could get the teams that work on Madden and NBA Live to be that way, oh well can't have it all I suppose.
"A background download will be temporarily stopped when any of the following operations are performed. The download will be restarted automatically once the operation has completed.

Is a PS3 game not a Blu-Ray Disc?
http://manuals.playstation....
But it didn't used to do that. Now if you launch a game and you have downloads going they automatically pause until you exit the game, therefore you can't multitask anymore. You have to start downloading stuff and just leave the PS3 on and wait for them to finish, now tell me that doesn't seem inefficient. Or am I the only person that doesn't have time to leave my PS3 on just to download demos, to be quite honest this is the reason I play less demos because now I have to dedicate time for jus...
I wrote EA way back in the day and was surprised when they actually sent me a letter back that was hand signed, this was before email was really popular. I feel your pain and understand your feelings about Madden, I too had become kind of disenchanted with it but I must say that so far what I have seen and played of it, it might just be the best Madden to date. The overall game presentation, the player mechanics its all there. They seemed to have slowed things down to speed them up, especiall...
