The whole point of Kingdom Hearts is the interaction with Disney characters...who cares if there aren't original worlds.

Remember that Sora's old clothes were being used for a short while before being changed by the fairy godmothers. So I expect Sora to get into a early battle that messes up his clothing, causing him to get something new :)
Edit: Also I remember when Sora got his new clothes, there was that epic music playing and I was :O this is going to be an epic story, I don't think Nomura wants to spoil that moment for us by showing the new clothing already.
