microsoft wipes its ass with 60 million. But factor in those games to bundle with the console, the advertisements they tirelessly put out to inform the public of the new price point, and so on, and maybe we're looking at much much more than about 60 million in loss.
This type of behavior exists in real life. If feminists have a problem with it existing in real life, that's their problem. Even if it existed at only a far off point in history, creators need the right to portray their work they way they see fit, and if that includes misogyny, then so be it. Hey guys, I have a boner for first person shooters. However, I understand they're all the same thing under a different story/theme, but now that there's one that maintains a stroke of repetitive depth, I'd like to suggest it should be game of the year.
I mean, this time, my feeble gamer-mind has more to do than aim and click at things that look like they might hurt me, and that's groundbreaking enough to hold the title of game of the year.
my game is free and has no road blocks like this :}

It is always expected of MS to pay off third party devs. From parity to dlc, and most recently with timed exclusives.
Sony did them one better and bought a major exclusive their ps4 platform desperately needs (the ps4 doesn't have a major fighting game, and certainly doesn't have any exclusive ones). This is how business is done. Microsoft can continue its petty brigade on buying exclusive vests/trinkets and 1 week timed exclusive nonsense all it wants. All they care ...
The article is just poorly written. They admitted in one part that Sony can do as they want, and then they just complain that its not what they (the author) wanted. That and the grammar is amateur.
Sony didn't purchase 3rd party exclusives in the ps1 and ps2 era. They dominated to such an embarrassing degree that companies had no need to port their games to other consoles. That, and many of the games had to migrate to the playstation platform because of Nintendo's poor format choice (ie: ff7). Dev's games couldn't fit on Nintendo systems.
So it wasn't a matter of paying devs off. It was a matter of being all that was relevant, with the hardware devs ...
It sold almost equally in the states, between the 360 and ps3. So getting it to be exclusive is massive.
If a game predominantly sold well on PS but not xbox, and then became exclusive, it would not be a big deal. Because (in the states) the ps3 sold 1.93m, and the 360 sold 1.72m of this title's latest installment, this is ultimately a huge deal.
It's also strikingly important because sony does not have a fighting game on its console, yet. It now has ...

Their two exclusives this years were SSOD and FH2 (<--which we all know has installments as refreshing as madden). Am I missing one? Honestly, I think that's it.
