PUBG is popular, but MS is putting far too many eggs into that basket. They honestly treat PUBG as if they built the I.P. from the ground up. They are courting this game at the cost of actually developing their own games..
Buy....is the key word... Not invest in or develop in a 1st party studio.. And this is why they keep getting raked over the coals by their competitors.
