This "drab looking, 720p, source engine running "masterpiece"" seems t drag a lot of people that aren't interested in it into its comment sections on this site.
People downplaying it without having played it and comparing it to already released games that they have played.
Maybe Planetside 2 isn't as fun as TitanFall. Maybe, just maybe ALL these people who have played TF may know a little bit more about what they are talking about than ...

95k during December in a market where its rival sold a million is just sad/bad. Honestly, only a loyalist would deny that the Vita needs some sort of rescue. The PS4 just wasn't enough, although I cannot imagine why people believed it would be.

It was never going to be a fair battle with PS4 only offering one flagship title and one no hope in hell title. Kill zone I suspect took the lion's share of that 600k units, I cannot imagine Knack selling anything over 150k.
Funny, last gen it was said that 360 exclusives sell more than PS3 because there are less of them to choose fro and ps3 sales are spread out. This time around, even with more to choose from, Xbox main exclusives have outsold their PS counterparts....
And yet managed to sell more games than everyone else. Are the PS4 games in short supply as well?

Pretty but dumb games prove that graphics will always be trumped by gameplay.
I have both Crysis and Battlefield Bad Company 2, try and guess which I have spent over 750 hours playing online and which I have barely played 30 minutes of. Although to be fair, BFBC 2 is not a shabby looking game.
Obviously a great blend of the two is preferable, but gameplay should always be king.

The Last of Us, easily. UC2 was great but more of a technical triumph than a gaming masterpiece. TLoU is that gaming masterpiece. Somehow underrated even with all the acclaim.
And if it isn't 60fps? Will you still deem it a necessary/acceptable delay?
DriveClub is not a simulator. Nothing about those cars represents their real life counterparts except their looks.
It wouldn't make sense to have DC be a simulator when they already have a perfectly good simulator franchise in Gran Turismo.
Think of DC as the PGR of the PlayStation, real life cars and tracks, arcade physics but not all the way Need For Speed

In Sam Lake I believe. Alan Wake was so well written. Gameplay was a bit mundane though.
Most gamers, or rather hardcore gamers, doubted the impact mobile gaming would have on handheld gaming and the industry at large. 3 years later and even Sony themselves have admitted that handhelds have taken a beaten from mobile.
