SE did not pay to make it a timed exclusive (do you have a source stating otherwise?)... Also this is not the first console mmo (FFXI on PS2 & 360).
The issue in porting this to the Xbox is that SE and M$ have not come to an agreement regarding pricing (M$ want people to be gold members, similar to netflix, and obviously for mass adoption SE does not want this), and also M$ does not like companies to use their own servers on live.

I disagree also. The amount of plot was perfect. You were given enough information, and told to go explore the world on your own. There wasn't a cutscene every 10 minutes, and it really let you take in all of the atmosphere by presenting the game in that way.
Where did you read that the games will cost more now that they are offered in 3D?
The article only mentions that those who already have the game get a free optional upgrade to a 3D version. Nothing more, nothing less
The teaser site has the appearance to be a fitness game. Even has the same colour scheme as WiiFit...

Not every MMO needs to be a clickfest like wow. Some people really like FFXI, and this most definitely appeal to them.

Also, a high percentage of those xbox 'exclusives' are on the PC as well. Pretty easy to understand that you can get a bigger budget for a game when you are putting said game on two platforms instead of one (Xbox & PC vs PS3 only), thus increasing your expected profit.
Most people who say games that are on Xbox and PC are still console exclusive are right, but being console exclusive, while still being on the PC, allows the game developers to draw upon two revenue...

Pretty much disagree with everything in this article. OK, a few more cutscenes (only a few) would be welcome.
Music during levels would take away from the atmosphere. They omitted music from the a lot of the levels in the first game for a reason.

People who play FFXI on the Xbox 360 DO NOT have to also pay for live. FFXI works with a silver account.
Obviously M$ did not want to give SE the same deal with FFXIV.
