It does add a big feeling of realism. Just think how many times that phone call was made in real life. Good job to EA with a fantastic trailer
Having the Beta officially announced is awesome!
This already makes it beter than MW2 seeing as IW never bothered with a beta.
The feel of the trailer is terrific and really gives the main character a sense of family.

You can actually get 3D glasses in prescription from companies like Gunnar, but these are for passive 3D games and not stereoscopic style games.
The fact that you need extra peripherals is a problem though and will keep full adoption of 3D from the masses.
That is the big problem right now for consoles, the fact that people will require new TVs. At east PC setups can get by with what they have and just acquire 3D kits. The glasses and emitter aren't that terrible to purchase but an entire new TV is excessive. 3D will continue to evolve, just look at the cameras that already allow you to take 3D pics like Fuji.
Even though there is a huge push for 3D in everything nowadays, it still remains to be seen when and if that will transition to gaming. If it does happen this generation it would have to happen with the PS3 as the 360 and Wii just do not have the horse power to handle it. PC gaming has already moved into the 3D arena with stereoscopic gaming in titles like BFBC2, but you need a pretty diesel PC to run it. If 3D does not pop up in this generation of consoles it will definitely make its presenc...

many people think that Zipper used MAG to test the waters for what they woudl do with SOCOM. I think MAG 2 will get a backburner until after SOCOM
The controller itself was impressive. It was ahead of its time with peripherals now exceeding $200 for plastic instruments. Suddenly a large controller does not look so crazy.

I think the beta will hit all consoles. If they want to stress test it they would want to unleash it on all venues available. Then again they may not need to test it that much since it will be running off of Forstbite and that is very established already with BFBC2. Either way the beta will be a great fist look at the multiplayer that EA has kept very tight lipped since we got word of this title.
