the thing that bothers me most about current gen ps3/360 graphics is the jaggies and pop-in, i realize the cause of this is underpowered gpu's that are unable to process al the items devs are cramming into the screen with a full AA pass, but it irritates me.
also, 720p or less is really begining to show its age, on a large 1080p screen it looks very washed out to me.
Next gen I would be 100% content with uncharted 2/3 level graphics in native 1080p with p...

pc version of Dark Souls is Miles better than the console version, has free dlc consoles don't get till december if ever, runs at a perfect framerate, yes even in blighttown, supports 1080p after mod (consoles are stuck with, and will always be stuck with muddy 1024x720) plus you can use $k resolution and downsameple to 1080p eliminating ALL JAGGIES.
this type of game is truthfully best played with a gamepad (xbox360 wireless for me)

the game is too big for a launch exclusive, if you want the best graphical version get it on pc. if you don't have a gaming pc, it will be an awesome game on ps3/360 as well.
now, releasing a GOTY Edition of GTAV later on next gen consoles could make a ton of sense finacially, first, get the game out, sell 10 million copies, then, work on optimizing for new console architecture, you'd get people buying the first version pn ps3/360 and pc, and then again many buying on...

witha small mod file you can up the resolution to 4K and then downsample to 1080p
it makes the ps3/360 version of dark souls look like an old ps2 game

ffxiii-2 seems pretty good, bought it for $15 at Bestbuy, only played 4 hours or so and got distracted by dark souls (again) on pc this time, freaking game is so good, and now, with the resolution fix, playing it with 4k res downsampled to 1080p, it looks ohhh so epic :)
bye bye jaggies, blur, screen tear and horrible framerate!
leave off in-game v-sync and forcing through nvidia control panel locks the game at 60 frames for me

all elders scrolls games are best on pc, thats where they started, thats where the are best played, the games are enourmous, the consoles lack the ram and the cpu and most importantly gpu to properly render and display the game
pop-in, screen tear, jaggies, bad shadows, corrupted textures, I get none of that on pc, my buddy plays on the 360, he loves it but he has had tons of issues, the framerates bad, the pop-in is atroucious, the load times are long

it is running on pc, it would look nothing like that o ps3 except maybe in cutscenes, it will hopefully be pc/ps4/ps4 title so more poeple have a chance to play it with those gfx, but ps3, forgetaboutit!
