Kart or Smash this year, it's a toss up. Bayonetta 2 says hello, however.
Next year, Zelda or Witcher 3.
$200 for a refurb from Nintendo with full warranty. Deluxe version with Nintendoland. Or $300 this Christmas will likely include at least Mario 3D and Nintendoland if the returbs are gone.
In a few years, about halfway through this gen, we will look at the catalogue of amazing games (not total games), and the Wii U will probably be in the lead, even without any major multiplat title. Naughty Dog will take the top 2 spots most likely, but Nintendo might take most of spots 3-10.
There will be great games like Donkey Kong, Pikmin, and Kirby for sure, among many many others. But there will also be unforgettable games like Mario Kart, Smash Brothers, Bayonetta 2, an...
First Light was a solid DLC, a good value, and good entertainment. I'd probably give it a solid 80. Second Son is my second fave game on PS4 so far, and is very fun and memorable, and I gave it at least a 90. Neither touch TLOU, but since that was my favorite game ever, I wasn't asking for that.
Game is awesome but definitely not friendly to casuals or those with little patience or a DIY attitude. Turn-based combat interactions with other spells and the environment are astonishingly good.
The crafting system is pretty terrible IMO but it can be almost entirely avoided.
I got 94 hours of play and was very satisfied for the majority of that playthrough, though there were moments where a pizzle was VERY difficult or a boss was too hard, and there is N...
And they totally redeemed themselves.
I've already pre-ordered this on Amazon and really stopped watching and reading previews. But I had to click this link and see how hard the trolling was. Very very hard. And very very ignorant.
I don't care what you label me or the Nintendo system if it has Mario Kart, Mario 3D Land, Pikmin, Super Smash Brothers, Kirby, Yoshi, Bayonetta, X.
I love me some TLOU and Infamous, but I cannot and will not live out my Nintendo staples.
This might be more of a system seller than anything except maybe Kart, Smash Bros, and Zelda. People really seem to want to play it and you can get a refurb deluxe Wii U from Nintendo with a full warranty for $200 (which includes Nintendoland).
There are mythical games that might be better system sellers - I'm looking at you Pokemon MMO and maybe even Mario 64 2 - but for real games, this is right behind the big 3.
PS4 is my first Playstation and I would DEFINITELY want many remastered classics. Streaming the old ones on PS NOW isn't the same. I want them to get the TLOU or Halo MC Collection treatment.
I won't buy it and it's not my kind of game.
However, I wish it well, as I'm a gamer.
I'm betting it gets a Metacritic in the mid 80's and is generally well-received, sells very well on all systems, and is played for a good long while by many people.
Will avoid all of the Ubisoft formula games (Assassin's, Watch Dogs, Far Cry). uPlay on PC is one of the worst things ever, so bad it makes Origin look amazing.
If I do succumb and play ACV or FC4, it will be on PS4 so I can sell it for $50 after I beat it and not have to mess with uPlay like on the PC. Sad for me because I have a 1600p 30" and playing the PS4 and WiiU is ONLY for exclusives, but now anything with uPlay might have to be on PS4 too.

My PC does 1600p on a 30" Yamakasi on max settings on every game. I absolutely love it. 1600p is freaking glorious and makes going back to 1080p pretty sad. I get every single game that is not exclusive on Steam (or Origin, but only if need be, curse you Dragon Age and Mass Effect).
I have my PS4 and Wii U (and 3DS XL) for exclusives and don't regret them a bit. I feel totally covered for all games that me and my family want to play for the next 5 years.
Best RPG out in the next 12 months other than Witcher 3. Next 12 after that will be Mass Effect 4 and Zelda Wii U.
And we all await the next single player Elder Scrolls and/or Fallout, but they are at least 2 years out.
They will not let Ubisoft be the worst gaming company, they just cannot let it happen.
They all have "towers" of some sort that serve as waypoints/teleports. They all have inane collectibles to find and click on (and not cool like the Tomb Raider ones that told a verbal story), they all have horrible follow quests, FC and WD have abysmal driving, they all have terrible or no true stealth or crouching, they are all soul-less open worlds, devoid of true character.
Deus Ex Human Revolution is vastly superior to Watch Dogs.
Just Cause 2 a...
I got this game free with my 290x (along with Tomb Raider and Thief). It has been pretty cool and I never played the first two Sniper Elites. It's not worth $50, but it is worth a Steam Sale down the road for $15 or less. I won't ever play multiplayer and I do not play COD/BF, but the single player is good (not) clean fun. NUT SHOTS!
Done with the Ubisoft formula. Far Cry, Assassin's Creed, and Watch Dogs are reskinned versions of the same basic game, and its a one or two-button snorefest of repetition, poor story, poorly optimized engines, and overhyped everything.
Unless they make a South Park 2 RPG, I don't think I'll ever buy another Ubisoft game.
The Wii U has to be the first console to have backwards comparability for both games and controllers, which is really quite amazing. Scoff at the original Wii (mass some still do to the Wii U), but the Wii had 15-20 AMAZING games and the Wii U will have just as many. That's more than I need for a great system.
In my house, we only play exclusives on consoles, everything else on our PCs. The Wii U gets more action than the PS4 but we are very happy to have both. And my dau...
I find the metacritic critic review averages VERY useful as a starting point, and the user reviews as generally terrible and unreliable.
I love to check the game's critical review, then open up a few high ones and a few low ones, and go from there.
My most trusted/visited sites are Destructoid, Game Informer, and Escapist. And I usually check IGN and Gamespot due to their popularity.
