Making sure the framerate is at a constant framerate is a better experience. Silent Hill before they capped the framerate was having framerate that went above 30fps (up to 40 or 50) then down to 30 or 20. Was way worse in SH3 since the framerate went below 30 in some areas, making the main character walk or run as if she was some kind of heavy tank.
After they capped it, it ran at a fairly constant framerate.
I can't stand that video, it's 20 minutes of actual problems, 1 hour and 30 minutes of them trying to be funny but failing and the rest blaming people that have little to no impact into the development of that HD Collection.
Other than that I agree with the rest of your post, Kojima should have demanded better performance in that HD Collection since it's his work (unless he was happy with the end result). Also definitely agree that Bluepoint make the best HD Colle...
Yeah same here but maybe a bit more tolerance for it as I played some games that had these severe issues (Fallout 3, New Vegas) I played through Downpour already but if the patch fixes things up then I will definitely give it another clean go.
I was planning to see it but the reviews and impressions I've been getting from people is just becoming a massive turn off for me.
I may wait until it's out on DVD as I'm a fan of the series and I would spend less money to watch a film.
Sony does pour decent quality into their HD Collections. Jak and Daxter, Rachet and Clank, God of War, SotC/ICO etc. They are definitely good HD Collections.
MGS is another great HD Collection to try out.
I only own the Silent Hill HD Collection which on release was an absolute abomination of a port. After the latest patch, it's not bad, just not as good as the originals.
is the PS3 patch out yet? I don't know whether it's out yet or not.
Great update.
Classic mode is great, I hated Hardcore mode so to see it gone is great. Plus I can get the treasures in that mode with the treasure booster without getting just cash!
^ Just an FYI the golden guns have been replaced by fire weapons in the latest update.
Vita trophies - Yay!
Folding@Home - Aww, it's sad to see it go.
That was fixed in the latest patch.
They said they're not adding co-op to the main campaign but they didn't say no outright to co-op.
They may go the same route as UC2 and UC3 which is make the main campaign for TLoU single player and add on co-op modes and campaigns to the game.
I am not going to complain about a free update. Even if it is on the disk.
I still am not going to buy the game though.
Darkness II - haven't played so can't give an opinion.
Silent Hill Downpour - some people HATE the SH brand because it isn't made by Japanese. That is not a good reason not to try it out. Technical issues is. I would still recommend trying it out.
The Walking Dead - I'm hearing amazing things about it. I'm grumpy that it's not available in my country.
Sleeping Dogs - I want to play this game, seriously, I do.
Spec ops II - Not a fan of m...
Pretty sure this HD Collection won't leave you such a bad taste.
The devs that are handling this collection did a fantastic job of the MGS HD Collection and of ICO/Shadow of the Colossus.
I'm kinda hoping for a patch but I won't hold my breath.
PC has some good horror games. Most famous being Amnesia.
Otherwise I'll be honest, yes I consider SH to be the last true survival horror for consoles despite the quality dipping. At least it tries to retain its heritage throughout. The only exceptions being side games and BoM.
Same, Soul Sacrifice to me looks like a more appealing product than what Monster Hunters from the past, present and future offered.
Sounds fun. I might give it a try and see how it goes.
Character creation is shown in the first video from that link.
Man the more footage I see from this game the more I want it.
If you get it (try find the originals if you can) you can go ahead and play SH2 as it doesn't require SH1 to understand the plot. SH3 it is necessary as it follows on from SH1.
You should try SH1, sure it's really old but it's still considered to be very good
