Seems the average score for Kinect is an 8 (According to the 32 N4G reviews). Not bad at all for all the doubt it was getting. None of the games really appeal to me at the moment so I'll have to pass for now, but might pick it up next year when the games shown at TGS hit store shelves. Steelbattalion was awesome on the original Xbox, so I'm hoping the new one is as well.
They can play online, there have been leaked videos of Zombies being played in online co-op, as well as competitive multiplayer. I agree, I wouldn't spend that much to get any game early, but lucky for me I have a mom and pop store on my block, so I might be able to pick this up tomorrow :)
This is only one review, no other reviews have been posted. Plus, The Fight bombed as well. Fighting games and motion controls just don't mix. They sucked on Wii, they sucked on PS3, and they suck on 360. Fighting games require very fast reaction time and precise controls, which can only be achieved on a standard controller.
Neither could PS sites with Move, so what's your point? 8 is a great score, especially for Kinect since everyone was doubting, and bashing it to hell and back.
To be fair NecrumSlavery, you don't own a 360 :P
Who actually "trusts" reviews anyway? All reviews are simply opinions, the people reviewing them are no different than you and I, they can just write better than us. If someone at IGN says a game is bad, but your friend says the game is good, are you going to trust IGN because they have a popular website?
TBH isn't Kinect aimed at the mainstream causal audience? Everyone in their mother knows the was Kinect stands right now it's not aimed at the core audience, unless you include Dance Central for the hardcore dance fans. Kinect thus far is for the casuals and from the reviews (even the gaming ones) it's a success for what it is as it stands. Wether or not it will appeal to the core audience later down the road is still up in the air, but I'm not holding my breath on it.
I never said I liked Kinect, or that I support it, or that I'm getting it. I just quoted the article saying what they said was harsh. There was no need to include that in the article, but they did anyway, which is why I said it was a harsh thing to say.
"Nothing since the Wii, certainly not Sony’s imitative Move system for the PlayStation 3, approaches the ambition and technical achievement of Kinect in potentially reshaping the mass home media experience."
Damn that's harsh.
That's because Move can't recognize anyone, it's a controller, not a camera.
Well I saw a review the other day posted here on N4G by a dark skinned user, and he didn't seem to have any problems. He wasn't like Akon dark, but he was pretty dark and from the video it worked pretty well. Then again a lot of reviewers are saying the calibration setup is difficult regardless of skin color, so that could come into effect as well.
And to think 50 Cent said he ran NY, MS has got his ass on lockdown lol
Harmonix is definitely the best developer for Music games. They do some great work with their games.
lol no. Move Starter = $99, Extra Controller = $50. Together = $149 which is the price of Kinect.
Harmonix makes some great games, I expected this to receive great scores, especially considering the hyped previews.
I'm honestly surprised by that score. I knew Kinect wouldn't be a failure, but I didn't think anyone would actually score it perfect.
I would laugh if he actually got excited and opened it right up to play it, I bet you would feel dumb for spending that much money just to fail lol.
They wont show up unless it scores less than Move. Even .1 points higher, they wont touch the article.
Well Kellogg's named a Tiger Tony lol. I actually find it kind of odd this game is scoring higher than the other Kinect games, I thought this would be more of a 6 or 7. Guess I was wrong.
Not sure if you're talking about software or hardware, but Move hasn't scored higher according to N4G. Move has a 7.4 average, and Kinect has an 8.0 average.
