Dang I totally agree with the peacewalker statement, would require a certain company to actually give a sh*t about MGS and not F it up though, I don't see Konami handling it even close to how great this CC remaster has been done which is a shame :(
I really had a rough time playing through the OG CC it was just awful imo (as a big FF7 fan, there was just 0 combat initiative just mashing 1 button and the old DMW system was horrible).
Now it's almost hard to believe that I'm actually really enjoying this remaster, it feels like this is what the original vision of the game was but done properly this time around, combat feels intuitive (especially on hard which I'd recommend starting, it makes you have to use ...
Uhm, the souls games do have tutorials though?..
I sometimes wonder where these kind of comments come from because obviously you've not played the souls games, sure it's a simple tutorial (use R1 to attack) (use this to heal) etc. but it does the job and doesn't leave out any mechanic that needs explaining.
Demo had pros and cons to me, also feels like maybe the demo part might've actually been one of the lesser interesting open world parts of the game (seeing some other gameplay in more interesting areas)
Looks like a more fun version of FFXV (same engine and devs) with hopefully more stuff to do (I feel like the demo open world bit was only a tiny slice of what is in the full game), the dialogue was eh, the enemies could also be more inspired but overall I didn't tot...
@Maelstromb what ziggy said, Konami always disavowed Kojima's reputation like it's something hard to swallow for them so they pulled some moves looking like hoping he'd fail sometime because of it.
What they definitely did do though, was move the deadline for MGS5's development time, TWICE, by 6 months and everyone then bashed Kojima for releasing an unfinished game...
There are plenty of examples to be honest, just dig around if you reall...
It all comes down to the quality of it like certain Series or Anime, if the character development and story development remain interesting then I would gladly play a REEEAAAALLLYYY LOOOONGGGG 200-300+ hours game, because you get attached to the characters and story, the more quality content it gets the more it impacts you, after 200+ hours with characters you are really attached to them and if something big happens it'll leave a mark way more then characters you only spent 5 or 10 hours w...
Well as we grow older we just have to be sorta picky with what games we truly think are worth investing time into, I mean there's loads of games that looking back on it I'd rather have spent that time on other stuff or more time in games that I really like, the average gamer puts in thousands of hours into multiplayer games I gave that up loooong ago so a portion of that time can be spend on great story-driven / slice of life single player games... would I want any of those to be shor...
This isn't only the case for horror games lol, there's been so much copy & paste 'working' formula's and trends in games for at least 10 years now
Don't really have the spare bucks to buy a PS3 + the game again just for MGS4, especially with this news it seems like if I wait a while it might show up on PS again, it used to be on PSNoW and I'd rather sub to PSNOW for a bit to have some other titles playable besides just MGS4 for the same price or even cheaper then going the route of buying a PS3 and the game
I don't trust Konami doing anything new with the series but I hope they become available in a proper way on the PSN hopefully PS4/PS5 will both be able to access these games, really want to replay MGS4 and since it's been delisted the only way right now would be to emulate it which I'm not a fan of tbh, it's also not emulated properly yet, there's still bugs etc. =[
Terribly humble of you to assume you know what is and is not a Final Fantasy more-so then the actual developers who make them, games change formula's consistently, your just not comfortable with change.
Also every FF (even the turn-based ones) changed with every iteration, then FF15 and FF7R went a newer route combat-wise which most people loved and FF16 is yet again switching up the formula, that doesn't mean it's not a FF game..
Tons of disagrees but if you'd phrased it differently like 'If a small portion of the fan base is screaming for something to be implemented then maybe it is ok to not implement it if it changes the original vision the developer has' I would have 100% agreed.
Developers sometimes try but fail to cater to everyones needs, there is not a single piece of art in any form in the history of humanity that caters to everyones needs and there will never be, so stop trying...
I stopped reading at narrative problems, if there was a problem with the Remake that wasn't one of them, the narration is on point, the only things that could get a touch up is aerial combat and better side missions (which probably will be pretty toned down considering how much content Rebirth will have to tackle).
---- Spoiler ----
In the story my only 'big' gripe was barret's fake death purely for shock value / it takes away from the mai...
Ummm... Ya'll know E3 is making it's return in 2023 right? xD
Your right on some parts and wrong on others;
[MORE SPOILER TALK]
- Yes there are 2 timelines
- Zack did not die in the past this time around as is shown by him returning to the Church wanting to meet Aerith (at the end of the DLC)
- Zack is also dragging Cloud in the new trailer beyond a point he was supposed to live so he is most definitely alive in his 'past' timeline
- White feather in the new trailer indicates that ...
Most likely it is a Remake, specifically because of a few things, the naming 'Reunion' is similar to FF7's Remake and Rebirth, most likely it'll be told differently (or at least end differently) to tie in with the Remake/Rebirth story
Revelation or maybe Reclamation (hinting at Sephiroth actually succeeding in his new plan to reclaim the planet)
They're already working in P3 you can see that in some of the extra information they posted also so many people are bashing the release windows, do you even understand how amazing it is that they are dropping a game of this size with just 3 to 4 years of development time?
Look at some other games that are taking WAY longer.... smh... people just be hating just to hate
It won't be fully open world, it'll most likely be Big interconnected zones instead, can you imagine a game the size of FF7 with the graphical fidelity they shown in the trailer to be like that for the entire world of FF7?
The part we saw in the trailer is just Mt Nibel... now Imagine making something 2000-3000x the size of that with the same amount of detail + it needs to not be empty... yeah.... no... not happening...
And really it's honest...
I can see where your coming from, tbh though, the OG CC suffers from bad dialogue/story, bad gameplay, bad mechanics, bad janky graphics etc. basically all was fixed except for of course some bad story parts, they did add some new dialogue/story here and there to make it come off somewhat better but it's the only thing holding this game back from being really special, the missions are actually fun to do now with the new combat system, the DMW isn't annoying but a nice addition to comb...
