Art is when a medium is used to evoke emotion. This has been absent in most games I agree.
Shadow of the Colossus and Call of Duty 4 meet this criteria for me though. In order for a game to be art it needs to evoke emotion through the interactive medium itself and not borrow other mechanics from other mediums.
Example: Bioshock has emotional moments. FF has emotional moments. They truly evoke emotion. So why arent they art? Well Bioshock evokes emotion through dial...
Its weird that you say that. This game is looking like it will be historical like Ocarina just because its getting so much praise.
lol Resistance 2 sucks. If I may say, the single player was boring, and mutliplayer was fun but nothing special. Its just another generic FPS, with decent graphics.
As for Killzone 2 its a great game. I still have it actually. The single player was just exciting all around. Sure the controls were difficult to adapt to at first, but when you get used to it you realize that it works in context of the game. Multiplayer is very fun too. Not to mention this is a game that looks like a...
I think you misunderstood. Im saying the PS3 would still have whats best because the multiplatform FPSs are the best on the market. Im saying the 360 and PS3 are equal.
Resistance makes up for L4D. Killzone for Halo. Orange Box can be played on any PC. The exclusives arent outshining the multiplatform IMO.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (over a year old lol)
Super Mario Galaxy (came out 2007)
Legend of Zelda (launch game? LOL)
Metroid Prime (again 2007? Amazing game though)
Punch-Out (sure...)
Okami (lol port of a 4 year old game with waggle)
Boom Blox (huh?)
Wii Fit (*ahem*....no comment)
Wii Sports (lol another launch game)
Zack and Wiki (how old is this one?)
Even if the only FPS's on the market were CoD4 and Biosock, PS3 would still have the best this generation has to offer. There havent been any other FPS's that better those two. And that includes Halo 3 and Killzone 2.
Edit: Killzone and Halo are great games, but they arent CoD4 or Bioshock quality. Killzone 2 has amazing graphics, great single player, multiplayer is great too, but not better than those 2. Same for Halo 3. Except Halo 3's single player sucked and graphics were onl...
PS3 software sales are really close to 360 sales despite the fact the 360 has like a 2:1 install base ratio over the PS3. The only game I see there that didnt perform very well on PS3 was Beatles: RB, and that game was promoted for 360.
Edit: Wow. Scribblenauts flopped. So much for E3 game of the show.
lol, these blogs arent really getting anyone anywhere.
fighting games and definitely racing games for me.
But you cant ignore that this came up in contingency with the Australian retailer's rumor.
LMAO
Let me just point out, that Bioware isnt making Mass Effect 2 with only those who have played the first in mind. That would extremely limit the target audience. Anyone who hasnt played the first would still be able to enjoy to the second. Maybe even more so because of all the gameplay enhancements.
With that said, I have Mass Effect on 360 and I plan to replay the game to have my character's choices to my likings in preperation of Mass Effect 2. ME is still the best 360 exclusive...
lol
I dont think MS will let this happen. They'll definitely pay EA. Besides, it wouldnt feel right. It would be like Uncharted 2 going to 360. The Mass Effect franchise is "the" franchise for 360. Not the most popular one but easily the best one.
Id choose Fallout 3 if I were him.
Still waiting on MGS4
Edit: @ below
if we're getting them then Ill wait till this generation is over.
AC2 will be awesome. Already pre-ordered it my self, cant freaking wait.
Wow. Just how many perfect scores is this game gonna get? Right now its currently ranked as the third highest rated game ever along with Halo: Combat Evolved and GTA 3 (among others).
ODST was developed in less than a year.
Edit: oops, elven got it...
Bioshock has one of the best soundtracks in a videogame of all time.
