Very cool design but no thanks, to a wired controller.

Didn't they realize wired isn't more futuristic than wireless :P?

... Mh, I honestly have mixed feeling about this one.
On one hand people already pay for game, on the other though games production costs are very high and keep rising and adding online support may be hard, especially for non blockbuster productions.

I don't know how it is on the 360 but my personal online esperience on the PS3 for many online games hasn't been very positive as far as lag is concerned.
I'm especially thinking about Bioshok 2 and Tr...

Ridiculous comment.
Uncharted 2 was improved on every aspect and they especially worked on adding that cinematic experience feel they wanted and that I, for one, really loved.
Put on top of that a great multiplayer.

Killzone hasn't been released yet so I'd say it's veeery early for such a comment but fly-combat and co-op are quite good improvements.

No wonder you've 1 bubble left, now that I look at it :\

I agree with your analysis, movie/music and the games markets are very different ones.

They have different audiences (the movie/music ones being much larger and varied than the games one although the Wii expanded it but it's certainly not Wii developers that will struggle) and much different ways to make revenues.

People can state developers are just "greedy" but it's happened and more than a few times that a studio had to close due to financia...

I doubt is a matter of sex, most likely inexperience and/or lack of interest.

(inexperience) If one doesn't have much experience is more likely to suck or run into difficulties.
(lack of interest) If one doesn't have any passion for something is not very likely to overcome difficulties and rather give up when running into them.

Now, the lack of interest and/or inexperience of girls with games is a completely different matter and, in my personal o...

I do agree.
In the end the used games market only makes money for the resellers/shops.

Perhaps no-used games and lower prices from the start could do the trick for both developers and customers.
Or maybe a method could be developed where developers also get a percentage for the re-sold used games.

Sometimes I see people buying used games just to save 5/10€ on a title but if they bought them online they would cost just the same but NEW.

Hey there,
I think that the E3 is more about content for gamers than "just" sales.
In fact the biggest success of this generation, so to speak, is Wii balance board and you don't really see it as a gaming device, do you?

That said anyway I wouldn't base sales predictions on Amazon pre-orders only (if that's what you're referring to) as it was often denied in the past with games predicted to sale much more than they actually sold.

If there's someone that can really turn 3D gaming into a reality that really is Sony: they have the know-how and assets and the interest (don't think about games only but also movies and TVs).

I haven't got an HD tv and still playing on my monitor but I'm glad 'cause next big buy will be a 3D TV and certainly a Sony one.

I was actually taking into consideration various aspects: the stage was very dark for example, a lot of videos/demos etc., the PSP discourse and things like that certainly made the show, as a whole, "slower", not as paced as Nintendo's one.

Not that I see it as something negative, all the opposite in fact but since many tagged the show as boring I was trying to understand why, for me it really was interesting as I commented already :).

And obvio...

I wonder whether with the PSN+ Qore will become available also on those regions that don't currently have it?!

I don't see why some English only content doesn't get uploaded on some European PSN as well, even non-UK European can read English and I for one would surely be interested in it!

Sony's real problem was probably that they have too many games to show and you can't really ask tens of developers to come on stage and live-demonstrate them that said we still saw LBP 2 which is awesome, sorcery (pretty nice), Tiger Woods (I'm not much into golf though) and Twisted Metal.

The show was probably a bit too "serious" as far as mood was concerned but they showed an impressive lineup of games both exclusive and not.

If you lo...

... it's usually worth it.

I love my RDR warhorse, enjoy drinking from my Gears of War Mug, have stuffed a lot of things into my Pandora Box and also put the Morror's Edge yellow bag to use.
Of course on the shelf I have all the Assassin's Creed statues etc. etc. :).

Bioshock 2 had a great SE, probably the only real and worthy artbook.

Ps.: I actually did write a list of "introductory games for girls" some time ago: http://thechickgamer.blogsp... it's a bit dated but for everyone that wants to introduce their girlfriend or girl friends to gaming may still work.

ps.: I'm not into MMOs though.

I do agree that when it comes to "hardcore gaming" there are hardly any differences between girls and males as far as preferences go.

Me and my fiancé just share the very same games and mostly we like the same things. We play a lot of multiplayer since we love playing together and we usually just rank up the same way so I think that as far as skills and tastes are concerned is certainly not a matter of gender but experience and taste and ultimately the passion ...

I really agree with many of the comments here and add my voice to the ones of those that felt "let down" by the RPG aspects of Mass Effect 2.

I had great expectations for ME2 having really enjoyed the first and hoped for a real RPG treat.
There really was room for improvement for ME1, the planet exploring sections could easily be improved, diversified and so on with added exploration and RPG elements. I was sure that with improved technology and knowledge th...

I really don't think they are really comparable, very different games: different structure, different flavour, different experience.

I guess it's mostly a matter of taste but certainly Heavy Rain is much more innovative in terms of gaming experience, it's a genre per se.
