Got my Elite at Best Buy in MA.they had 26 of them and they are sold out.I stopped at Game Stop ,forgot to get a extra rechargeable black battery asked them if they had any Elite's they had 12 and they are sold out.This is all within a 1/2 hour so around me it sold very well.
I could see if out of 1000 Elite's sold and only 1 worked then and only then you should complain about it but thats not the case give it a week or two not every ELITE,PS3 or Wii is going to be shipped 100%. no matter what electronic product it is there will always be a flaw.
Got it today at 11am started playing at 11:30am and I just got off and it's 10:30pm 11 hours of non stop playing.Another thing is that it is so much quieter than my other 360 and the HDMI connection was worth it such a better picture. I have a 61" Samsung DLP 1080p much better picture with HDMI than component. games and movies look so much better. I eat my words when I said that GRAW2 was just the same old multiplayer game and should have been DLC for GRAW. GRAW2 multiplayer is by far the best looking and the best playable multiplayer game on XBOX360 HANDS DOWN,and it's not an opinion it's a fact.
I have a black 360 and wanted to wait for a black HD-DVD player but I didn't. I hope that there is a CO. that will be selling a black case for the HD-DVD player I don't want to spend another $200 I should have waited. everything that I have in my entertainment center is black and chrome/silver even my TV except my 360 HD-DVD player.

I played GRAW from the time it came out until R6V came out.GRAW is a better game, R6V was just a fillin until something better comes along and it is GRAW2. I got R6V the first day it came out and I love the game don't get me wrong but I have not realy played it in over a month with GRAW that was never the case and to put R6V DLC on XBL MP in March with GRAW2 all I can say is loss of money and loss of players if the DLC is put on MP in FEB it might change alot of peoples minds about the R6V DL...

If you goto GAMESTOP.com and type in HDMI you will see that GAMESTOP will have a HDMI cable in DECEMBER 2006 for the XBOX360. FIX THE ONLINE GAME FIRST
The setup will or should be the same as the cable that you have plugged in the back of the 360,but instead of the HD component cable should be a HDMI connection and hopeffuly a optical connection for sound. If the sound will only come from the HDMI then alot of people are out of luck if there surround system doesn't support HDMI, then the HDMI cable will be useless.
I have the ELITE with HDMI set 2 1080p hooked up I have the HD DVD add on and a 61" Samsung 1080p DLP HDTV.
