True in some way. Story bullshit aside, there are many things wrong with the game. Ppl are too transfixed on the story alone. The gameplay hasnt evolved at all and it's stuck in the old ND gameplay formula, it's archaic.

The game is exceptional, not a masterpiece like what everyone is saying.
The storytelling is absolutely not fantastic. The pacing is terrible. Cannot say the same about other areas though.

I don't get all the padding complaints. The only part I really felt was "padding" in the game was the return to the sewers but even that was not a bad segment. In fact, lot of ppl wanted more things to do in the game.

About as many times as I have to buy God of War, Uncharted, Witcher, Metal Gear Solid, etc.....Ppl should not overexaggerate things, saying they are scumbags for releasing the game in parts. As long as it's a full game with enough content to warrant a full title purchase, who cares right?
aside from your disliking of FFVII, FFXV was a great game after all the dlcs came out, I can agree with that.
You're speaking of personal preferences, I understand if you don't care about the game, it doesn't matter what they do, you still wont like it. Objectively though, FFVIIR has the best showcase period. The pacing, the way they setup the whole event, it was perfect.
Took me 26 hours to beat the game on survivor, and I breezed through it. If you learn how the game mechanics work, you can literally abuse the whole game with stealth kill and dodge. It's terrible stealth design. AI is great compared to other games I'll give you that but if you look at the bone and structure of the formula, it hasn't evolved much.
