I'm been retired from destiny after 1yr + in. And that was at first launch. I'm sure for every player that retires, there is one that picks up the game as it is now and goes "HOLY SHIT! I could give a rats ass about this game. Played the beta, and didn't care for it. Now it doesn't mean I don't appreciate the art style. I know for one I wouldn't tell any of the lasses to get off me if they sat on my lap. Ok... maybe the muscle builder one.

Game was a 9 out of 10 for me. Was it the most game breaking game ever tho? No. I'm a FPS player first, so DOOM is something I'm still playing while UC4 is shelved after I beat the story. Is it better then Dark Souls? Some will have a argument for that.

I don't consider supers a "I win" button. Mostly for the same reasons you give. But I'm just not the type to care for things being made easier, rather then having one adapt so things become easier.
I get that the whole purpose of the super was so that those that were not good at FPS can at least get something, but I've been playing FPS since wolfenstien. We had no supers back then, and we survived. And no we didn't give up FPS, cause of its comp...
Overwatch. The happy shooter. Thrown in some supers and coop against AI for the sensitive lot who can't pvp? Not my cup of tea. But I see the appeal to it.
The super mechanic is not just a overwatch thing. But its not something I care for in FPS games. Give me a Battlefield, Rainbow six siege, even DOOM.
