I'm really struggling to understand the motivation for shelving that game. I mean a game with legacy success and set in an open world London would sell like hotcakes. I don't have the sales data for eyepet but I'm sure it didn't sell that great.

I think you're onto something there it would certainly sell well. The question is I believe though whether purchasing the rights to Crash Bandicoot from whoever owns them now will leave enough of a profit margin to make it feasible.

Mass effect should carry on! Here's my reasoning: Mass effect was a great game this gen but ultimately it's one of the games I feel could really benefit from extra power. Just imagine Mass effect with little to no long long times and much bigger maps. Why are people disagreeing with you? Vita's showing at E3 was definitely a disappointment. Killzone mercenary we knew about and no Gaikai features where shown instead we were given a walking dead port which whilst good is nothing to write home about.

I'm not passing on it Per-Se but really I was awaiting a reason to consider one in the first place. I'm not going to hate a console not targeted at me which I'm not considering buying, for no reason that's just irrational. I've had Sony consoles my entire life and I've never been let down (note bought PS3 in 2009) and for myself I don't see any advantage in owning two games consoles.
How do you define 'winning'? Winning for the corporations is making a profit and increasing stock price. Winning for the consumers is having the best exclusive titles and features.
How do you define 'underdog'? Is that the system with the least legacy success or the system with the lowest specifications?
