Agree with it or not this is just a stupid thing to post the sony fanboys are going to be foaming at the mouth and attack the crap out of destructoid and make it appear to be the most anti sony/pro ms review site out there. You raise a good point, that would be an excellent acquistion for MS. I wonder how much Sega is worth now? They cant be cheap and i dont know if MS is willing to buy another developer/publisher when that hasnt worked out super well for them in some cases (rare)
Yeah but if they were able to make a cheap system with lots of good games based off of their back catalog? They would be aces i think, the recession could be their best friend. That is assuming they could afford to engineer and new system to be cheap (less than an arcde by atleast 50 bucks) be almost as powerful (of course the amount would depend on the games i suppose), include a HDD(100 gigs or something if they went all DD) and then market it. lol yeah maybe not in the recession.
If they did and made it 100% DD they could do it i bet, just make it kinda decently powerful but cheap and then charge a monthly fee for access to all of the games via DD and they could have a solid business model and it would rely on nostalgia and a huge back catalog of games as well as a good amount of monthly revenue.
The only crappy part is that Dreamcasts will eventually all die... and then we wont get the games ever! Well heres hoping PSN or xbl gets them... Or maybe a compilation next gen or later this one? One can always hope.

Likely due to costs. Easier and quicker to just do a 720 version using most of the stuff they alrrady had. Id like it in 1080 at 60fps as well. Prehaps because it would take way longer to optimize the code?

Agreed, how many games sell over 5 million in a generation? 10 maybe 15? The PS2 which is best selling console of all time only had like 13 of them and it sold 120+ million units. 5 million units is extremely impressive given the installed base of system right now.
Preorders are often indicative of how well a game will do unfortunately. Im not saying they are 100% correct but with only like 100k in preorders that leaves 4.9 million games to sell... thats more than MGS4 did including preorders. Just some food for though. Not saying it wont happen but the LIKELYNESS of it is just lower is all.
I hate to say it omega but i agree with you. GT5 will make it faster than U2, especially if it comes out this holiday season.
