Well considering they are focused on getting this console settled in, and to get a console out by 2014 they'd have to start on it RIGHT NOW.
Investing in R&D, which they did last year going into losses for the foreseeable future, this is never going to happen.
It's obvious Wii U will never get near original Wii but then again PS3 will never get near PS2 do we consider PS3 a failure?

CoD: BLOPS 2 has sold 6 million units in 2 weeks, worldwide so that's less then 10% of the console's user base.
Of that 6 million 636,000 are playing online around 11%
Now the Wii U has been released in one region and sold 400,000 in one week no word on how may units of CoD sold.

Just want to point out the Nintendo has NOT always made "weak and shoddy hardware" in fact up into Wii they had always been in the middle SNES was stronger than Genesis, N64 was stronger than PS1, GameCube was stronger than PS2.
Also no Nintendo console was shoddyly made those things are pretty much indestructible more so than any Sony console.

What about "GBA Express", "GBA Lynx", "GBA micro", "GBA DS", "GBA DSXL", "GBA DSi". "GBA 3DS" and "GBA 3DSXL"
Oh and you may have bought them because they had the best games despite being weaker.
