I agree with you. If you can perform the 24h check in with your mobile that solves the "if I dont have a connection problem".
That said ... I just dont feel comfortable having to signal to MS everyday "Hey I'm here" if I game on a daily basis for instance. There's just something off with the whole procedure ... cant exactly pin point it.

Yeah but when you see the numbers that games like COD and Battlefield do on the PS3 you have to understand you're the minority. Thats why MS struck the exclusivity deal (timed or not). They know where they're putting their money.
If this has anything of the impact that their first game last gen i.e COD: Modern Warfare had then well MS may just have the next big thing.

Who cares man, PS3 was supposed to trump the 360 in power ... we all know how that turned out. I dont believe a single second that this gen will be any different.
You'll get the odd Uncharted 2 or Killzone 2 graphic powerhouse, you know that one every 1 or 2 years game that really stands out graphically but thats about it.
The gap between XOne and PS4 graphically speaking is going to be as big or should I say small as this gen.

It would have been worrying if they had made such a reveal back in Febuary for instance since E3 would be 3 or 4 months away.
Like I said in another post, If I were MS I would have done a same kind of reveal since Im only 3 weeks away from E3. Their E3 show will probably be 1h30 long as usual ... they wont be talking about everything they talked about today since it would have been only 3 weeks away. That mea...
Anyway, if the PS4 is more powerful than "the One" (actually sounds cool saying that) it will be just like this gen ... practically unpercievable.
And when you can actually percieve the differance, well it will apply to that one blockbuster per year.
