I wouldn't say that. There's tons of single player games on PSN/XBLA and alot of them very successful. Eg Flower, Limbo etc. There's still interest in single player but only in bite-sized doses. Assassin's Creed 2 sold pretty well and that was single player only.
Yes, you are correct. GameStop orders stock from Sony when their existing stock diminishes, thus meaning people buy it. I cannot say more simpler than that.
Does anyone think Sony hold a gun to their retailers and forces them to order more? No. Naturally MS does the same thing to their X360's and Kinects yet no-one acknowledges it.

I'd say it's actually the PC that's holding them back. Due to the open ended nature of PC hardware, you have to make your game work on a vast variety of hardware, not to mention the expensive task of optimising it. Such a thing is too much for ordinary PC developers, so they switched to making games for consoles in mind then porting it to PC.
It's so much nicer on consoles to be honest. Yeah you lose some thing like mods and such, but to know your game works ...
Because they realised that you can't get good sales on the PC. Seriously Crytek admitted it, no wonder they're more interested in console development (I hear they're also making an 360 exclusive too).
No you're right. Alot of the weapons they just changed the colours and stats and said 'look! we got thousands of weapons!!!!!'
But story get priority though, Borderlands was a great game but the story might as well not be there.

Cannot f**king wait. I got all of Studio Ghibli's movies and they are so incredible. I've been waiting anxiously for the PS3 version and it looks like a it was worth it.
