In 5 years you'll be able to get those kind of screens at half price. I remember the first plasma to land in the UK was £20k, a year later you could pick one up at c.£4,000 (that's when we jumped in :S) and now you can pick up a good plasma for £500. The story with any new piece of tech.
Give it 5 years we'll have some reasonably priced 4k tvs.
'Raceing Games are all about the visuals' - Really?
Yeah screw the cars, the tracks or the actual racing!
Also - should someone call the RSPCA?
Totally agree. But Postal 2 was-
*checks around first*
-more fun!
...and using cats as silencers for shotguns...
That's true! I remember some of those later levels in doom being messed up. Looking back, it's nothing really. Soldier of fortune was another dodgy one.
The whole shooting civilians has been done. Let's not forget the airport chapter in modern warfare 2 and those who are a bit long in the tooth may have played the controversial game - Postal 2.
Strictly speaking you rape a kid in Southpark with a massive anal probe. Or you were meant to. Censoring in the uk/eu sorted that out sadly.
A good read.
@dasbeer - agree completely - although the Mass Effect 3 ending probably ended it on a sour note for me.
Looks really promising - can't wait to get this.
Yes, while I agree that games are getting 'fatter', I don't see that changing - if anything, I see them continuing that trend. I think the problem is the disk space you are given. I think the Xbox One should really be 1TB.
Saying that I see they are releasing a limited edition 1TB Xbox One with the next CoD game.
Haha - love the pun.
That's a real shame about the score. I sense that IGN were probably being overly harsh. I would say that in our hands on preview of the the game, I did have some concerns on what was reported to be a 10 hour scarefest:

From what I've read and seen, while the Alien is intelligent and largely independent to stalk who or what it pleases, there are specific points in the game where it is scripted to appear, in order to progress the story.
I am lead to believe that while the alien will have appeared memorably at certain points in one play through, it may not necessarily appear again in the same sections. Same applies to the other individuals in the game.
I'm going to go against the grain here a bit and say that I actually thought it looked pretty good. Reminded me a lot of early Alone in the Dark.
It was a nice idea. I'm sure the sequel will be a lot better. But just felt like COD+mechs and a bit of parkour. COD was getting boring even before the next gens appeared, so not surprised it suffered from some amount of player fatigue.
It wouldn't be so bad if they just said 'sorry guys we just can't do it' or 'when we said we'd do heists, we meant the online missions' because then I could get some fucking closure and move on. But they won't even do that. We're stuck in limbo.
If the rumours are to be believed and Deep Silver do pick up Crytek then hopefully they can turn things around.
I agree, I don't reckon people should either. I would suggest people should wait until it's affordable. That same £4k plasma is just sitting pretty in the garage. It was one of those insanely heavy 'dumb' TVs, which didn't have freeview or where you need a box to watch TV. It's for that reason I'm holding off on buying a PS4 or Xbox One.
