$100 isa lot for a game but then again it won't be more then the 59.99 in the U.S. When it releases.
Games in other countries can be ridiculously expensive. Summer 2008 I was in a Tesco store in poland and they were selling HALO 3 for 379 PLN which was about $170 at the exchange rate at the time. I almost fell. That's more then a weeks pay for most ppl there.
Im glad games here are affordable, 60 bucks is cheap as heck.
Gameplay first then story and achievements second.
Achievements add a lot of replay value especially to great games. Getting vet achievements on CoD series is a lot of fun. If it wasn't for achievements being there I doubt many people and certainly me would never bother with vet setting.
On the other hand some games, especially rpg's on the 360 have such crappy off the wall and ridiculous time sink achievements, they just not worth the bother even if the gamepla...

Not a single PS3 game renders in HD yet, NOT 1! ALL of them are Upscaled.
The best of the bunch MG4 renders at 1152x648 which is sub HD quality, even 720p. Same goes for uncharted. PS3 is doing the same thing the 360 is doing, dropping render rez for higher detail and framerates.
Basically, MS said to developers, lets use PS3 strategy of rendering games at lower rez and have more detail, hence we will have ...
It started out as an expansion idea but then they added a bunch of stuff to it so yes its worth it.

Of course it will be the new trend, that's why there is no BC. It much more profitable to sell the games again as opposed to let us play what we already own.
I much rather have a 360 with a 50% RROD rate and have it fixed for free then have a 10.3% YLOD rate PS3 and pay $179 to have the laser replaced after 1 year warranty is up.
BC was one of the greart promises behind sony's playstation line. They touted it everywhere: investing in our software is an investment into the future, the game you buy today will work on all future playstation systems.
They fed this bs to us and then the ps3 happened. This is why people are fed up.
PS3 should be backwards compatible, or at least make a hardware bc sku. Its not like it would cost a lot either.

I dont get it, local target had 2 yesterday when I was in there, along with 3 160gb phats. Local ToysRus has em as well as their online store. And at toysRus u get a free ps3 remote when you buy one. Its beyond me why someone would go to ebay for one. But there is a lot of stupids out there i guess.
I just checked ebay and auctions ending within 2 hours for the ps3 slim are at 305 with like 1 bid... so i call this bs.
The bigger the better, my 120 is filled up already with game installs and downloaded stuff. I had to delete a few demos to make room for shadow complex 800+MB dl.
It might seem like a lot of space but it aint especially for game installs which once you try em, you just can't go back to playing from the disc.
MS needs to stop charging stupid high prices for the hd's. Better yet, release a sub $50 hd enclosure which we can then fill with any hd we dang well choo...
The 360 is doing fine, although I believe by xmass we will see a 149 sku arcade with some game bundled in. Once the pro sells out they will drop the elite to 249.
Just wait till npd comes out next month for official numbers. For all we know those retailers could have gotten fewer copies of one over the other.
Being polish I can tell you this. This add was made to target the business demographic in Poland and not the country as a whole. There are tons upon tons of asian people and businesses in Poland from just about every country in asia producing and selling tv's, cars, household appliances etc etc.
They did target the right people in the add but seriously screwed it up by that awful photoshop thing.
Bring on the ps4 or box720, heck neither the 360 nor ps3 can come close to the graphics detail that current pc's and dx 10 and soon 11 can do. There is so much more potential for home consoles yet we are stuck with the current 2 that use 4-6 year old graphics processors.
The whole thing with BC on ps3 is only about money and sony's business model. Software emulation for ps2 was in european consoles at launch. Even if it wasn't/isn't perfect sony could have just left it alone so everyone could have some sort of bc, but no.. they yanked it and now are coming up with excuse after excuse why its not there.
The ONLY reason why ps3 has no BC its because sony will be selling ps2 games on psn network. Having people buy the games they had and liked agai...

Well.. yay for PS3 but imo these figures are dissapointing, I expected the ps3 to sell aroung 350k in may due to everyone saying gta4 would move consoles, and moving an extra 15k units compared to april is not really moving consoles.
bought the game today and installed. Servers were down for maint so I didn't get to play it. I really hope its really good like reviews say. I also played wow and other mmos. This will be nice and fresh experience.
Why would any1 bother to hack a wii for vc games? Just hook up your pc to your hdtv, get a wireless gamepad and go to town with emulators, most of which emulate better then wii does anyhow.
I doubt that any significant number of people will bother with this. Running old games is fun for a while but then it wears off and you want to play new stuff.
