You're probably right,either they will sacrifice the FPS or the RES if they want to make the games graphically heavy.
Killzone:Shadow Fall had to sacrifice the FPS for single player but you can't blame them,the game looks STUNNING(latest story trailer looked phenomenal!).

GG themselves said that the game can handle 24 different enemy AI on one screen ! while looking this much awesome in graphical achievement,
Not to mention in Multiplayer they said that the game will support up to 24 players & 24 drones(with full AI) at one time while achieving NATIVE 1080p & 60FPS and only dropping a little in EXTREME situations.

That was 4 months ago,they could have said that not knowing that they may counter this res problem that the XboxOne is having.

The game looks amazing,I did feel that it had some frame rate drops in crowded environments but that's understandable since the game has so much into one screen,this is TGS build anyways & the game just gone gold so this frame rate issue might be dealt with at launch,such a beautiful looking game seriously.

BUT,Killzone:Shadow Fall looks just as amazing & I prefer the gameplay & art direction of the Killzone franchise much more than the Crysis series tbh.

The first video of battlefield gameplay that was leaked for the XboxOne,the players didn't have shadows,so some PS fanboys pointed it up & were like "XboxOne can't even handle shadows" or whatever they said.
I would have agreed with you if it wasn't a shooter game that we are talking about,multiplayer shooter for that matter,you're focused on the kills,on the players & not on a bunch of trees !
If that's the case then people wouldn't play a game like Counter-Strike(A PC GAME) till this day !
