XB wins on gimmicks for the less logical and easily impressed magpies. Voice and waves controls are often illogical and not satisfying.
You are not alone. The logical look at the purpose of UI and its usage, not impractical novelty and messy visuals.

Please. That's your 10 minute muck about. These are launches, and they always lack serious amounts of content. What are going to do with your XB1 that's so exciting? I'll be playing KZ Online, Contrast, Lego Marvel and Resogun , along with GTA and Beyond on PS3. Plenty coming to systems post launch too. Day 1 is hardly the be all and and all.
This lack of games thing doesn't wash with me. Both PS4 and XB1 have few great exclusives BUT the 3rd party stuff is far superior to last gen versions and I fail to see Killzone as a bad thing or free War frame, Blacklight ( and with Plus) Resogun and Contrast.
Some of these reviews sound like people that haven't been around for many launches. Much of these media are quick to call gamers entitled but expect the earth at launch.

Go watch the IGN video comparison. They do not look the same. It's clear the PS4 has better image quality and colours too. XB1 version looks green .
A fluid XMB is a very efficient UI and guess what the purpose of a UI is? Do you know? It's to connect you to content as quickly as possible.

Look up. UI design expert. Windows 8, the universally despised Windows UI , is the basis for this. I think XB UI is ugly tiles and not classy at all. Can I make that a fact by saying so? Windows UI is not popular know with reviewers of UI, who do I believe? Must be unbiased KNWS :-).
I also better start believing that waving my arm to search content is better than a D pad or touch pad ;-).
Xbox UI always look like they are designed for children to me. Leapfrog UI. I'd rather have something simple, fast and clean. 360 blades got praise and looked like Lego made it. XMB did get too sluggish in the long run though.
The PS Move are far more accurate than any Kinect. You guys just suck up whatever you hear. Try thinking or maybe some research .

Not true. Rev 3 games did a preview and all you last games etc are prioritised on your main page.
