Did you watch the Australian media event? That was just the other day and you could clearly see really poor performance, lag and movements not being registered. While they were talking I saw Joyride looking almost unplayable for the main female presenter and then the guy playing behind them.
I'LL ASK THE SAME QUESTION I POSE ON EVERY FORUM.
"IF KINECT IS SO GOOD,NAME ME ONE GENUINELY GOOD GAME IDEA THAT's NOT DANCING".
This is in capitals because I'v...
But is it just as wrong not to consider that most people think Kinect is a bit pants? Most professional previews are not favourable with only mainstream media lacking knowledge being positive. It's like saying Haze got slated because people were biased.Media were pretty biased back then but Haze was pants(I played it recently),you may have it the wrong way round.Maybe,360 fanboys are defending something they shouldn't.I've seen people claiming the Sonic game or Kinect sports look go...
Actually if you knew anything about IGN you'd know the vast majority are 360 based and are not fans of PS3.Very few editors prefer PS3 and most have spend all but the last year making fun of it.There are some that love it but most love 360.
That's not to say their reviews are unbalanced because I find them pretty professional, but 80% of IGN prefer 360.
It's not about maturity,it's the majority of the US media.
It's the dominant HD console there,they...
I guess no one read the forum comments underneath the video.Anyone that says it's the same as Wii should read the bits where he said Moves wrist twist response is about 100 times better than Wii.He also said that you could put realistic spin on the ball with Move and it was random and unreliable on Wii Motion Plus.
The thing with gamers is we find few things more irritating than controls that don't function as we expect, that's why Move may prove itself yet.
This nonsense about Wii being easy to set up and working well.I find it does not always register button pushes and on games like Super Mario Galaxy1 and 2 when I need a pointer,I need to stand and step forward.I sit at 10 ft away and the sensor bar does not work properly.
I've just watched that video at work with a couple of guys and the reaction was veering somewhere between amusement and disgust at various points.
Most of those games are either broken and unresponsive, embarrassing or Eyetoy on the PS2.
I saw this on many a 360 fanboys AAA exclusive list on N4G earlier in the year.
This is one of the very few games I felt I missed by not owning first Xbox.Great news and another use for my Move.
Did anyone notice Joyride on the video? She couldn't stay on the track and at one point it would not turn at all.She ended up leaning over and it still didn't turn. Then while they were talking about her experience, the bloke behind couldn't stay on the track either. There was lots of lag, even Dance central had it.
Now,you can call me fanboy, but it will not change the fact that Kinect makes you look stupid and still does not work properly.
Just like to say I predicted a poor CNET score in a topic earlier. So predictable.MS have a lot of weight with some media in the US.
Those saying fair score and "look how Sony fans can't handle it"should look at the fact most professional tech/game sites have scored high and praised it.
Problem is Wii never did what it said on the tin and the games on Wii are poor compared to PS3.Yes,I do own both.Wii is wholly and gesture based, not what was promised. No,Motionplus is not a good argument, about 3 games use it and it's still not as accurate as Move.
The way I've decided to look at this is to go to trusted sites for the reviews.Too many anti Sony little sites or blogs and some of the big sites like CNET have MS ad budgets to think of.
PSM3 love
IGN mostly love it
Arstechnica love it
Techradar love it
CVG love it
Joystic love it
Even Destructoid seem impressed
These are all pro, large review sites.Sure some of the early games are not great but that's normal in gaming.PS...
Evolving by copying an older form of motion tech that Sony have already tried?Interesting and deluded point of view.
Think I'll listen to PSM3s 84/100.They rarely steer you wrong, and despite being PS only, are fair and even handed.
Depends on your point of view.If they reviewed the Wiimote next to it,it would be slaughtered.
They talk about resolution too. What's Kinects res,oh yeah, the same with a lower framerate.
Read the reviews.Yes,there are flaws as with ALL game controllers but most reviews are very positive and site it as the best motion controller they've used, including both the rivals.
Totally agree.Only question is,are MS readying for next box?Their list of games are getting very slight. If L4D comes to PS3 only Gears would interest me on 360.Neither of those are MS made either.Do MS make proper games anymore?
You've not watched some of the Sonic Rider videos where it is slow to respond then?
Who are the none core gamers?
Lads nights in?What kind of lads night in?
Does it involve painting your nails and doing each others hair?
I also don't understand what figs or people that work with them have to do with Kinect?
So is it family and girls or lads nights in or hardcore?
You contradict yourself and my point still stands and always has.....
Why do people consider the showing of hardcore games a positive turning point?
At the moment it looks incapable of playing any games involving response or accuracy.
Works with one,as do all games on Move so far.
There's a world of difference between minor faults in a polished product, and major flaws in an unpolished one.
In vids, anyone with eyes think Kinect looks flawed for most types of gaming.Only Dance/Fitness look viable to me and they have always been a niche to most gamers. What else?
