If you believe that, you need to check your sources. While the system is likely only half of what the PS4 will be, it's GPU alone is several times more powerful than the Xbox 360's, which is actually a better GPU than the PS3's 7800GTX.
Of course I imagine that when the other systems roll around, the Wii U will be outputting games at 720p, while the more powerful systems will output at 1080p. But for now, with only the Xbox 360 and PS3 out, Wii U will be the syst...

I'm talking about innovation specifically, not necessarily technology. And of course Move will be more advanced than the Wii remote... in terms of translation into /actual/ gameplay though, Wii remote plus is on par with Playstation move.
Also in terms of hardware... Nintendo was alway the most advanced until the Wii. I think young folk forget that.

I think they say they are not competing because Nintendo has sold nearly 100 million units.... a lot more than the XBOX 360.... They're not competing because Microsoft and Sony are industry followers in terms of hardware. Sony is among the leaders in software, although one can't discount the more than 25 years of amazing successful franchises that Nintendo is responsible for.
I think that people keep getting gpu and cpu power differences mixed up.

Well they sold nearly 100 million Wiis and 150 million DSs. Why not? Nintendo + finally some more power under the hood(a la Super Nintendo, N64, and Gamecube... Wii was the first gen that Nintendo underpowered their console...)=full of win~!
