Thing is, there is one console maker that has shown that they deliver the goods. So I really don’t see a reason to wait, I would be waisting the bang for buck I could get from it since I know I will want to play their games. So day one for me.

Tempest works with all headsets and soon all other sound set ups. The Dolby though only works with Dolby licensed products like yours.
Also I believe the Dolby Atmos will only work with Dolby licensed products while the Tempest works with all headsets, and soon all soundbars, etc.

Well, we know that Sony has stated that the Tempest can do hundreds of sources as opposed to Dolby’s more limited sources. We also know that Dolby responded to Sony’s statement by saying that their tech could do more sources too but that too many sources can lead to audio confusion. So, reading between the lines, Dolby is saying that they have encountered a problem with higher number of audio sources. I’m really excited to see what this particular developer is doing with Tempest. Something about the concept of playing a fps from them is intriguing to me. Add to that the Tempest tech, and I think Returnal might be special.
This game is surprisingly my most anticipated.
Not a bad idea to prepare for launch by stocking up. There are better ones on cdkeys. But this offers convenience factor for me.
