Yes PC games do get demos these days. Only some games do though. Mafia II got a PC demo.

My HDD score in windows with Raid 0 is 5.9 also. You will only see better with an SSD. Also the Corsair H50 is a very good cooler. I have my Core i5 760 running @ 3.9GHZ.

If a game is going to be single player then it should have a single player career twice as long as games with multiplayer to make it worth it. I never play online so it doesnt affect me though.
Dont forget the heat and noise also. I have two GTX 470's and they are hot and extremely loud. Lets hope NVidia can fix the issues with the 580.

Im getting 103FPS with the game @ 1680 x 1050 and everything at max. I have an intel Core i5 760 @ 3.9ghz , 4GB DDR3 1333mhz ram , Asus Maximus Gene and 2x GTX470.
Immagine what DX11 will look like on the consoles. After all us PC gamers are stuck with DX9. (I am being sarcastic again lol)
I know exactly what you mean and Criterion has nobody to blame but themselves to blame for not supplying a proper demo.
