I agree, but keep in mind that the 360 has been out a year more than the ps3. This is vital time that both the ps3 and PSN needs to get up to speed with what consumers are expecting nowdays from online gaming and social networking.
@VF34EJ25
And by 2009 I hope that both Sony and Microsoft has beaten each other so much that we can have it all for free. *yoink*
The strange thing is that if you do the math Microsoft would have to sell two Arcade 360's to make as much money as Sony when they sell one PS3.
But this doesn't hold up imo when it comes to market share profit and live memberships...
The real question is what is the most profitable. Having as many consoles as possible out in consumers laps, there by expanding your market share overall or making as much profit as possible from the retail price?
One bundle that would get the family consumers going would be: 80 gb ps3 bundle with 4-6 selective blueray dvds for 449$. They could call it "The Cinema at home bundle" perfect for family fun at home.
I bet that Sony is thinking that thier holiday line up coupled with Home will sell thier system regardless of retail prices. I don't see that happening but there is a slight chance that LPB will blow both the wii and the 360 out of the water this holiday, but that chance is not to depend on imo.
Lol LikAChicken you made a perfectly valid none biased or negative statement and still you get disagrees.
I guess the only thing that one could say to get agrees and bubbles in a thread like this is: XBOX 360 RULES!!!!
Halo 3 is the game that all kids love. Mindless shooting with ninja swords on thier backs? How much more kid oriented does a game have to be? =)
bottom line is don't get the Wii. It's very limited to what it can do and it gives you probably the worst hardware, software and features for your money.
PS3 in the long run would be the cheapest and smartest choice but then again we don't live in 2009 yet do we?
360 is currently at it's peak so it will give the best gaming experience money can buy atm, but it will also cost the most in the long run. Scraping your 360 by 09 when the PS3 will shine and your warrenty h...
You mean a machine that breaks down on you like 3 or 4 times in it's life spawn so you have to send it in for repairs and have to buy an additional xbox360 from either Game Crazy, Play N Trade and GameStop just so when the holiday comes you will be 70% sure that you have a working gaming console?
Yeah 360 all the way...
It doesn't even have to have breathtaking graphics, Tales of vesperia graphics would do more than fine. But as developers see that there is less profit in doing high end console games than wii/hand held games it's not a shocker that we won't see something like that for a couple of years.
"chainsawing people all day long"
Yeah for "one day" then what? The problem with gears of wars 2 is that it has no replayability what so ever. The horde mode? How long do you think untill that will get boring? playing the same map over and over and over. Multiplayer? 4vs4 is lame and will also get old quick. I heard that Gears of war 2 had like 5 multiplayer maps too. It's multiplayer is almost in worse shape than metal gear online.
I believe more...
They add a little minigame inside the actual game but I cans sure live without it if the game itself delivers. If farcry 2 wouldn't have trophies I would absolutely still buy it but if wipeout HD didn't have trophies I would probably really think over it before judging if I should buy it or not.
Then multiplats and 360 exclusives would have gotten much bigger and better and would not have been hold back by the outdated dvd9.
If you want to do everything that you can do on the PS3 as an Xbox owner you have to buy gold live membership. After that you need batteries for your controller and a recharger if you don't want to spend a multitude of money on cheap batteries. A HDD is also needed as the PS3 has one.
360 Arcade = 199$
Xbox goldmembership = 70$
Battery charger = 40$
High quality rechargable Batteries = 10$
A 120 HDD for the 360 arcade version = 150$
No...
And by 2012 Sony and other companys will have brought in an fortune on the blueray so then didn't it serve it's purpose? I don't understand the meaning of articles like this, are they trying to get people worried that blueray will stop selling or are they just stating the obvious?
If they doesn't get it right the first time around it's understandable. I have my suspicions that it will take around one month post release to fix the server lag and balancing of R2. This is forgivable judging by that they are breaking new ground in online and co-op gaming =)
There will always be people that say that something is wrong or sucks because they can't master it like everyone else. Here are some examples of just that.
Like DA_SHREDDER here, he's saying that thirdperson shooters are bad because he's used to multiple generations of only firstperson shooters. He may have a problem with adjusting his way of playing shooters when having a thirdperson view instead of an firstperson view. This is understandable but the more he'll practice the bett...
I don't want to hear a crying baby or any other sh*t in the background when I finaly get my hands on socom ^^
"you sir, are a racist"
*corrected
Is it so hard to just be happy for others that doesn't have all three consoles? If you happen to only own an PS3 then be happy with what your getting and shut up. If you only own an Xbox360 then congrats to you the games and dlc in this vid looks fun, but that doesn't mean you also should be happy and shut up.
Those that only has an Wii... those...umm, yeah just shut up...
For gods sake stop being such jealous smack talkers and grow up!
"nearly half the (perceived) price."
Nice! finally someone that knows not to only see in black and white =)
@LikAChicken
Very true, competition gives us better games and better prices as customers. If Microsoft or Sony owned it all we would get like 2 games a year and thats on a "good" year.
