They arent closing there japanese studios in fact those have been growing at a crazy pace.
The US studio's goal is localizing there japanese content and making smaller projects with the tiny dev team thats there with the localizing team

The US branch will be localizing japanese games.
They will be making small mobile games maybe 1 at a time in the smaller US development branch
This doesnt mean any of there japanese game development is going away
only in that small branch. They still will be majority japanese
none of those are really game of the year to me because
A) alot of them havent come out yet
B) they show a lack of risk
C) most of the games just dont deserve it
but whats the point if you dont make any games?
if its up that long. With costs in excess of 100 million it could potentially be the biggest flop in history
id rather have an actual defined platformer.

Development costs, lack of originality and risk are bad enough as it is
