There are a lot of mistakes in Nintendo's way of releasing the Wii U. For one it doesn't match up to what we have now even. It does in some ways, but in most it doesn't....but that's the thing it only matches up to what is soon going to be "Previous-gen".

Honestly how credible are these guys to be pricing hardware that has pretty much never been mass produced before until this system's launch? Also some of their prices are wayyyyy off. I can tell you this, the AMD APU production line is extremely inexpensive. RAM is also a very cheap product for any production warehouse to make...why among the most expensive parts on this list according to these guys? Hell if I know...which is just another reason why I question their pricing.
The main problem with this general idea is that cinema is heavily appreciated to the general public. Where as Video Games have gotten the attention of millions alone in America...but when it comes to the mainstream media...they don't cover much on Video Games except for when politics blames video games on violence.

What is happening in reality is somewhat contradicting what you're saying though. For instance, lets say the Wii didn't do well in sales either, but this time you say the Wii U will not....The Wii U is already behind in Nintendo's projections by millions of units. I wish there wasn't some kind of standard on the price of games. Well developed games, that have a decent amount of content, yea they're worth $60-$70, but there are a lot of games that are poorly developed, released without it being done, and they're only put on the shelf at release for $60 because that is the "standard"...hopeful ly with the online market making a big push, we'll see this standard go away finally.
