Can't wait to play Dead Rising 3 in 720p and 20fps. System seller, for sure.

If I'm not mistaken, Jeff Rubenstein isn't "leaving Sony." He got fired over a year ago, and now got picked up by MS.

@PraxxtorCruel:
I already have a gaming PC. That's how I know the jump from 720p to 1080p is such a massive improvement. When I switch from gaming on my 720p 360 to my 1080p gaming PC using my HDTV, the difference in clarity and definition is startling.
I'm excited about both the games and the improved visual fidelity that the PS4 is looking to bring. I don't think anyone's "expectations are too high" (maybe they are if you are getti...
I guess you could say I'm a PS4 fanboy, but even if I were just an unbiased onlooker who isn't picking up either console, I would disagree with the idea that Ryse is as technically impressive as PS4 games, or is proof that the Xbone has close to the same graphical capabilities of the PS4.
Mainly, this is because Ryse is just a linear, scripted beat-em-up, with lots of QTE sequences, small levels, very simplistic AI, and limited physics simulations. On the other hand, ...
I'm a resolution snob because I expect my $400-500 new console in 2013 to take advantage of my HDTV from 2010 and use a higher resolution than 720p (the same resolution as LAST-GENERATION'S Gears of War, Uncharted, or Battlefield, etc.)?
Having higher-resolution graphics DO matter to a lot of gamers, especially early-adoption gamers who buy new hardware expecting a significant upgrade in image quality. Get over it. The sooner you accept this fact, the sooner you can m...
Lmfao. Yeah... right.
"In any case, we certainly aren't looking at the kind of difference in graphical quality you see in some cross-platform games from earlier in the PS3 and Xbox 360 generation, where graphical details could differ significantly between platforms."
This isn't really true. If you look at last-generation's technical, objective differences between PS3 and 360, and then compare them to the technical, objective differences between the same franchise on PS4 and X...
Wonder how the 100-friend hard limit will work with this on PS3
I'd like to know this to.
I'd also like to know if I could pay for this using my PSN store credit, because I have a good amount of credit in my account.
1080p ISN'T a problem.
720p IS a problem.
720p is absolutely unacceptable for next-gen standards. Games like Last of Us, Uncharted, Gears of War, Killzone, and Dead Rising, etc., ran at 720p on PS3 and 360. Next-gen doesn't necessarily have to adhere to a full 1080p framebuffer, but it should at the very least be aiming higher than 720p.
1080p isn't a "must" for next-gen.
However, higher than 720p IS a must for next-gen.
720p is last-generation's standard resolution. Just like 480p was the standard for last-last generation (PS2/XB1/Gamecube). Next-gen should at least be pushing greater resolution than 720p. 720p is unacceptable for hardware released in 2013.
Like every COD game the last 3-4 years?
COD4 and other earlier Call of Duties just were able to immerse you into a world; atmospheric levels one after another that told a story almost entirely through the setting and visuals alone. The games were so adept at simply presenting a narrative in subtle ways, rather than forcing a script down your throat through literal, artless cinematics and mediocre NPC conversations.
In terms of gameplay, the way the levels and AI were designed, they created epic battles in large-sca...
Serious question: Which one has the better single-player campaign between the two? Battlefield 4 or Call of Duty: Ghosts?
I intend to buy one or more of these games primarily for the multiplayer component, but the story mode also plays a factor, especially with launch of new consoles in which case I'd want something that can act a demonstration of the graphics and cinematic experience my new machine is capable of (at this point in time, at least).
From th...
To be perfectly honest, Gears of War isn't even that good.
If Epic is making a game for PS4, I'd rather have a new IP.
Part of the reason is that Crytek is a special studio; very few developers out there are as talented as Crytek's artists and programmers at architecting engines, optimizing to get the most out of platforms, and making games look good even on weaker hardware.
For example, Crysis 2 was one of the best looking multiplatform games running on the ancient PS3/360 hardware a couple years back.
Yep, more Xbox 720p. :/
Some Xbox fans will try once again to pass the blame off onto the developers. And while that might be partially true (coupled with the new-console launch crunch with unfamiliar hardware), it is also a recurring trend that we're seeing many 720p games on the Xbone exclusively. First it was DICE, then it's Infinity Ward, and now it's Capcom. What's the common denominator between these three "lazy" devs?
It's...
Pika... pika... Pikachu!
Xbox 360 has a good built-in scaler, and upscales all games to 1080p. I guess the 360 is just as good as the PS4 and Xbone then.
Holy shit! That Microsoft payola is in full effect!
