He's simply commenting on the way that cultural differences flesh themselves out in the two genres, and how JRPG's tend to go much more far-out and over the top and their levels of fantasy, where as WRPG's, even when they do have fantastical settings and unrealistic situations, still feel grounded in very real, human emotions.

Mass Effect had an EPIC climactic battle and a final scene that hit the perfect balance between being a satisfying conclusion and leaving you hungry for the sequel. And finally, it closed with one of the greatest end credit songs in video game history.
Halo 3, whether or not you are a fan of the series, had a truly bittersweet ending that made for a heartfelt and fitting end to one of the biggest games in history.

Is the only upcomming MMO that I can see actually dethroning WoW. Not only does it try to do something substantially different than WoW (mixing mmo game play with story-oriented, single-player RPG style quests), It's also made by one of the most renowned developers of the past decade, and it's also got the brand recognition that comes along with the star wars title.

I have thought a lot about how this could be Turned into a game. I imagine a game that turns the scenes from the film into highly atmospheric battle zones, with a feeling of dread throughout. The storyline of the film could easily be adapted into a commentary on linearity in games, If you listen to some of the lines towards the end of the film especially. If done right, this could be an epic game.
This game was my freaking passion back in the arcade. Lets hope for some even more intense/trippy stages like the original.
