GameStop kind of sucks but so does this article. A hyperbolic end-of-days post on a no-name website based on a whiny kid's Tik-Tok.
I think the significance is due to the fact that a lot of people said 'What is the point of the PS Portal? I can already Remote Play on devices xyz'.
This shows that even with that, people who use Remote Play are embracing the PS Portal.
I think the obvious solution (to me) is to make a hybrid *PS5* that can play PS5 games natively and stream PS6 games. Launch it 6 months to 1 year before the PS6.
If the last couple generations have shown anything, we'll still get PS5 games for several years after the PS6 launches. So they can position the PS5 Portable as a more flexible, portable option that will play new games for years AND is future proofed by being able to stream PS6 games.
That w...
It makes sense. Though there are a lot of *decent* options, the PS Portal is the only *great* option.
I know some folks hate it on principal (I get it, I wanted a Vita 2 also). But it is legit a great product for what it does.
Main usage of the Portal is in-home for most users. Just like how some huge majority of Switch owners play in handheld mode at home.
For example, I was just watching DanDaDan on my television while playing Unicorn Overlord on my Portal. :D
Been waiting for this functionality since launch! Very cool, been using the PS+ Cloud Streaming since it launched and it has been nearly flawless. I've only had a single disconnect once in 150 hours of cloud streaming (and a few stuttering sessions where I had to reconnect to stabilize). Still blows me away that streaming has gotten so good. Yes, I know mileage may vary but with a strong mesh network the experience is amazing.
Disappointing that you have to sub to Premi...
Finally!
This. And it will sell as well as a Steam Machine too (that is, very badly compared to a traditional console).
I couldn't get past the writing in that review. Tons of mistakes, missing words, rambling sentences, etc.
For example, "Even several impactful branches don’t have meaningful branches, such as..."
Uh...
This feels like the epitome of a 'tepid take'. Dark Souls has always worn its gothic horror influences on its sleeve, it isn't exactly subtle.
Yeah, this is very silly. Wolverine's not invincible and he can actually die anyway. This isn't the Superman problem. The 360/PS3 game handled it great.
Deadpool is another example. That guy literally can't die because Death won't take him. But they still figured out a way to make a game around him.
The reason why is super easy. The base PS5 has the highest install base of any (current-gen) console. Showing the game running on the most common platform/console is simply showcasing how the most number of people will experience it.
For years, devs have gotten in trouble by showing console games running on PC with unrealistic framerates/visuals. This is just them being honest.
Also, Witcher 4 and GTA 6 look *shockingly* good on the base PS5, so it isn...
I picked it up on sale the other day but haven't fired it up. I'd been eyeing it since the PSVR days but the PSVR2 version seems massively improved.
Puzzling Places is a fun little game too, though it didn't click with me as much as I had hoped. I love jigsaw puzzle games but I don't know. Controls felt just a tad fiddly.
Yeah the first thing I thought was 'Holy cow that is some serious rose-tinted glasses'. Maybe it was written by someone who was 5 when the 360 was around and doesn't actually have a real memory of Larry.
This is Polygon, that's in their DNA.
Hah that thumbnail. Impressive amount of side-boob.
Yeah this isn't shadow dropping.
Ditto, this site is so cringy.
This is an impressively dumb article.
"Anticipated" - by whom? I'm a big anime and RPG fan and I've never even heard of this game.
