Well said. It took about 2 minutes of research to see that your main statement is true. The writer of the article should have mentioned that in his article to show how relevant it is to trend of Nintendo stock for the past few months.
To be fair it looks like Nintendo stocks have been on a steady decline from the beginning of the year so I doubt that the announcement of the WiiU had much to do with the drop.
Also to note, the stocks are now as low as they were a couple months before the original Wii was released in 2006. It will be interesting to see if Nintendo will be able to regain their stock value to what it was when the Wii was at it's peak. It will probably be hard to tell before a price and rel...

The BF3 demo was actually switching between platform versions if you didn't notice.
Like the Wii I believe the Wii U will sell. The main thing that I don't agree with Nintendo on is that they think their console will appeal to hardcore gamers who already own a PS3 and/or an XBOX360.
I believe that Nintendo had the opportunity to go above what Sony and Microsoft have done with their console but I think they failed to do that.

The console is still a year out. In my opinion they introduced the console a little too early without having actual content that is in development to back it up. Sure they have tech demos at the show but the consumer is going to have a long wait to actually see what the console is capable of.
Sony will be able to do something like this with the Vita and PS3. They already have the plan to play the same game on both the Vita and PS3 so integrating them together is not a stretch at all. Since the WiiU will be coming out after the Vita I guess Nintendo could end up copying Sony in this regard.

Did you see the BF3 video? How about Uncharted 3? Forza could look better on PS3.
How can you tell that it is on par with PS3 and 360? Did we see any gameplay other than the tech demos? For all we know all the videos we saw were pre-rendered.

Ghost Recon looks awesome...but the Kinect mechanics for moving around and shooting are still lame. Wouldn't you rather have something in your hand to simulate a weapon or other equipment instead of just opening your hand to fire? Remember Kevin Butler using his hand as a gun to mock Microsoft...they haven't even made it that far yet!
