It definitely sounds like another place holder date which would totally make sense as the current date (Dec. 31) is almost upon us.
@dedicatedtogamers
A lot of what you are saying is inaccurate. Revengeance was never a 360 exclusive. I think you are thinking this because it was introduced in the Microsoft press conference but that doesn't mean it is an exclusive. Just like how Sony revealed a couple EA games that were clearly multi-platform.
Kojima Productions is still very much involved in the game with the story & cutscenes which I think is important. I don't think this game would be...
@Aither
You might be speaking for yourself and a group of people but you are not speaking for all MGS fans. I am a huge MGS fan and I am very excited about this game.
@despair
It is still a Metal Gear game. The name has nothing to do with the lead character but the Metal Gear universe that Kojima created. Metal Gear 'Solid' is reference to Solid Snake so it is good that they dropped the 'Solid' accordingly. To name the game Raiden Rising wouldn't make sense because it will still be part of the Metal Gear chronology.
Obviously it doesn't look like there will be any stealth in the game so no it won...
Too many people are upset about this game not looking like MGS. Obviously it is set in the same universe but it is essentially a spin-off from the main cannon. I love MGS games and I am not upset about this being different as long as it is fun to play and has a good tie-in to MGS.
@WANNAGETHIGH
I think most people are just riding the COD wave and that is the reason it has so many sales. Battlefield 3 is the better game all around but most people just buy COD because they are more familiar with the brand.
All they need to do is make it so it doesn't highlight other players. Should only be used to increase vision in dark areas. Simple fix.
For those of you have followed the entire series you know that Kojima is not going to ruin the MGS story or timeline by making another game. The safe bet is that it will be another prequel or have a parallel timeline to other game(s). It will be interesting to see where he takes the series if it is set after the fourth game.
Haven't they been saying that the PC was the lead platform all along?
I would compare the development and release of COD games to that of sports games. They are released every year with a couple changes but people still buy them to stay up to date and in the trend. I doubt the majority of COD players have actually played a single round of BF3 and they blindly defend their game based on media and others' opinions.
My first impressions of the Gears 3 controls were that they felt a bit clunky at times. I am sure people who have played those games for a while are used to it though.
Of course COD fan boys are going to be happy playing the game. It is basically the same game they have been playing for the past 4 years. What I don't understand is why someone would dish out another $60 for a 5 hour campaign and slightly tweaked multi-player. I understand this game has a ton of reply value but how much does it differ from MW2?
Why do you think they are on the way out?
Decent military shooters have been around for well over a decade now and if anything they are just as popular as ever. IMO Guitar Hero & Rockband were video game fads. They were marketed towards the casual crowd whereas BF & COD have always had a hardcore fan-base that will continue to grow.
For a game that came out nearly a year after GT5, Forza didn't do anything to really raise the bar. Maybe the graphics have improved slightly but as far as gameplay and immersiveness is concerned it is still behind GT5.
Who agrees that Forza_is_King is just as much a "blind fanboy" as the people he is trying to argue against? You can pretty much guess from his user name but the arguments made a weak and the logic doesn't make sense for the point trying to be expressed.
It doesn't make sense to compare the percentage of premium cars in GT5 to the cars in F4 because the number is irrelevant. GT5 has roughly half the number of premium cars as Forza 4 has cars total. The percen...
Even before the GT5 Spec 2.0 update I didn't think Forza 4 looked to be that far ahead of GT5. Other than adding the Kinect features there isn't a whole lot more that is offered. As far as features and gameplay goes I still think GT5 takes the cake, even more so now with the new update.
I sold my G27 thinking that it would never be officially supported...I wish I would have waited another couple months...:P
Still looking forward to getting back into the game when I get home!
Exactly what my first thought was...who cares?!
You can get custom dog tags for $5 on the web that look exactly like those.
I can't wait to play NS roms on my Vita :P
