At this point I really think BC is just an outlet for ppl to complain about something. I have never seen BC or lack be such an issue until this generation.
We all buy new machines so we can play new games. It isn't as if when you buy a PS4 your PS3 dematerializes or runs away. If a customer wants BC and it isn't being offered, then you hold onto the old console.
Yeah it's pretty silly that we have ppl still clamoring for this when they're well aware of the differences in architecture. Specifically at how atypical the Cell and it's workings are.
It's not only difficult, but it would be a costly endeavor for both SONY and eventually it's userbase.

The resolution is indeed 1080P, but it is relative to the 210" screen you're essentially viewing. So in that regard it will not be the same as viewing a 1080P game on a 55" tv. You're going to be able to see individual pixels a lot easier.

That's my understanding as well. Even though MS lost some of it's install base to SONY due to bad ideas initially, the Xbox One is still selling ok I thought.

All those reasons you listed are rooted in recent historical fact. The fact that MS had to reverse nearly all the awful anti-consumer 'visions' is all one needs in order to see that MS had it wrong. Their vision was vehemently opposed and many are to this day still put off by them.
