Your friend is a bonehead. You don't buy a launch unit and sell it a couple months later while you claim to have tried the exclusives. No launch console in history has kickass exclusives lined up. There are one or two until year 2.
Giving Sony exclusives a try would be buying a PS3 and spending the next 5 months playing through 8 of them. Not making up internet stories.

They make games to make money. Its their livelihood. Why would they prefer the console with less customers?
Its not about which company makes more money.
Its about which company sells the most consoles and has the subsequent largest user base.
Biggest user base means most developer support.

I have both and there's absolutely no discernable difference between gaming networks. None. Both have hiccups and both have their great days. Both use dedicated and both use p2p depending on the game.
