I really did enjoy both of the R-Types on Genesis. This is definitely getting some attention from me. I love side-scrolling shooters.

You can really tell the difference between gamers then and now. What I mean is that if you look through our comments here, there isn't a single "disagree". Looking through posts/comments on other topics you'll have at least a few "disagrees" which for the most part have to come from jerks who disagree for the sake of it and are about 7-10 years younger than our demographic (I'm guessing we're about 28-34?). Threads like these restore my faith in N4G.
Haha oh man! I remember that issue! It had a sweet CD cover sticker of the logo (devil head w/fire) I think it had memory card stickers too.
Can't wait!! I didn't mind the commentary from Thorne and Clement. That's probably because I just muted it and put on music after the first month of listening to them ramble the same dialogue over and over. That goes with any sports game though. It'll eventually become stale (including Doc and Eddie). But I'm happy for change!
First game that gave my thumbs blisters! (NES buttons were sharp lol) I remember my brother and I would wake up early for school so we could try to beat it. Little did we know our attempts at victory would be met with such pain! Actually wrapped our thumbs in toilet paper so we could keep playing too! Memories indeed!
Absolutely loved the first Manhunt. It did get pretty tough near the end. It's awful that it's so sickly satisfying to execute people in those ways :P
Never had the chance to play part 2. I've heard that during the executions, the screen kinda goes red and it's not as clearly visible as the first game. But I've also heard that if you had a modded PSP that you could eliminate the red from showing up and you'd be able to enjoy the executions the way they were me...

Best part about them making their own product is that they can sell it inexpensively.

I think it looks a lot like (or simply reminds me of) the Nightmare Creatures games from PS1. Old gothic setting, monsters/creatures and the use of hand-to-hand weapons as well as a small amount of firearms. Should be much better as the former was a strict brawler, really. Looking forward to 2015!
