1.) RDR sucked, for the most part. Sure, it was cool AT THE TIME...but go back and play it NOW.
2.) This is the same team...and the same engine...that produced GTAIV. If GTAIV was such a "flop" and "overhyped garbage"....like so many people like to say (I'm not one of them, BTW)...what makes RD:Redemption such a sure-fire success?
BTW, did you even PLAY Call of Juarez? If you DIDN'T, you really have no basis for your comment; it really is one o...
Anybody who played CoJ knows what this developer can do; they're using the same proprietary engine in Dead Island as well, and it's looking amazing.
It's funny that Killzone got so much hype over their lighting...yet Call of Juarez came out 2 YEARS EARLIER, on the 360, and had SUPERIOR lighting. You actually can hide in shadows...or even in direct sunlight, if your opponent is looking into the sun...and the natural light is SPOT ON. Couple that with the amazing textures and backgrou...
Why don't you just dld them now, and transfer the files to your laptop? I have a 16GB USB flashdrive I use for similar things...they're about $25-30. Or, you could get a cheap USB external HDD...20-40 GB..and do the same.
BG&E isn't 360 compatible, so I haven't gotten to replay it years...and I only got to play the 360 version of FarCry...and my PC wasn't able to run the original, when it released. Thanks Ubi! :)
...until Intel bought the dev, and decided to make the WHOLE GAME into a tech demo. I think this will end up being a launch title for the next XBOX, with an earlier release for PC.
DUN-Dun-dunnnnn!
..that was fast 0_o
I'll take a TRUE 3-D action/survival horror game, over a linear Quick-time marathon, ANY day.
Not sure about the "intelligence" of Harrison...but I agree with your other points.
I picked up on a couple tidbits, that REALLY shows the "direction" Phil Harrison has for this company:
"This perception has only been strengthened recently with the acquisition of Cryptic Studios, developer of City Of Heroes, which, in buying the studio, has also seen Atari steal Xbox 360 and PC MMO Champions Online from under the nose of 2K Games."

Is it 2008 all over again? I'm still waiting for the PS3 to "dominate the 360", like it supposedly would with "AAA exclusives" like LBP, MGS4, MS2, Resistance 2, and...LOL....HOME.
...people think this is "innovative" and "new". The failed Phantom project was going to be IDENTICAL to this...just with a proprietary PC/console, rather than using your own. This TOO will fail.
Nearly 3 years since the PS3 launched, and it STILL doesn't have these basic features, that have been a huge part of XBL since 2002.
Pathetic, Sony...really.
Um, WHY would they add HDMI??? The Wii isn't capable of utilizing the HD portion...so what would be the point? :/
...has been since LAUNCH.
...DVD player. THAT was the BIGGEST reason for the early success of the PS2. DVD launched in '96, and just like VHS and Blu-Ray, the first standalone players were EXTREMELY expensive. Three years later, as the prices are getting low enough for the mass market to start looking at dumping their VCRs...along came the PS2. It was a no- brainer: for about the same price as high-end DVD player, you could get the next Playstation, still play your old PS1 games, AND play DVDs.
Sony ...
Compared to REAL blockbusters, like Halo 2, Halo 3, Gears and Gears 2...that's PATHETIC.
If you compare the 360's price + exclusives + hundreds of bargain multiplats...that are the better version... and XBL, to the PS3 and it's few quality exclusives, PSN and inferior multiplats...and library IN GENERAL...there IS NO comparison. If someone is JUST NOW getting in on next-gen, the 360 is simply the better value, if you just want to play HD games. PERIOD.
...don't get hot, at all. I picked up a Jasper Arcade, because my launch 360 was out of warranty, and it DID get quite warm. The difference in both heat AND noise is astounding; my PC makes MUCH more noise...just being ON.
