What about Xerxes out of 300? He even looked the part and a seriously cool voice?
Oh this is bad - UK recession is deep and biting hard. I turned up to my company in 2000 a dot com disaster which closed its doors and we had the meeting on a park bench. Got a new job 8 weeks later though. Hopefully they get their last pay check and a new job soon.
Hopefully this will drive down prices on lower capacity SSD's making it possible to gobble up something at about 300GB in Q1 2009 for half the price of 2008 :)
did you even read my comment? I just said I lost my job but did something about it - grow up you selfish little idiot. By the way my article was in context of every corp having a tough time, not just Sony or MS but the likes of Western Digital, my old company etc.
Look make it as personal as you like, doesn't matter, we own all three consoles, my wife works for Microsoft and I like the PS3 - I guess the 13 odd people who ignore you have already met you. Open Zone beckons for you....
I lost my job in 2008 due to budget cuts in a PLC - rather than sit there and do nothing about it I started my own business developing and helping our the next generation in their career opportunities through training and placements. Very worthwhile and refreshing change in my career direction.
For some people who loose their jobs is is disappointing, for many it's also a chance to make a change, recharge the batteries and enjoy Xmas with their families before hitting the market...
Thanks for the update McGraw, nice to see a holistic approach to the industry being written here. Bubbles to you.
That's as up to date as it can get!
Of course I read the article, my point was to show that wider corporations (of which I am a business owner myself) need to refocus on what made them great in the first place and this is where Nintendo is succeeding.
The article is dated in early 2008 by the way and most of this has now happened - I will find the link to the results of this movement which happened recently. You will find the date of the article at the top of the story. The article I posted does not pertain to gami...
Currently in Microsoft they are having problems with their Window's Live Solution (mail etc.) with many of their top executives walking the plank or jumping ship.

It's easier to code for a Sinclair 48k than anything out on the market right now - whats the point of this? You get what you put into it! Nothing like hard work pays off - right Naughty Dog and GOTY team Media Molecule?

This is awesome news.
I was beginning to wonder if the media Sony hate was having an effect on the perception that blu ray was just a "ps3" thing. It has so many potential uses just like the DVD had with the added bonus of producing amazing quality video.
I hope they start releasing music albums on blu ray instead of CD - the quality of music would be amazing - anyone who had SCAD or even DTS 5.1 recordings would agree.
I agree - a review right now is a very positive move if it indeed strengthens its strategy for 2009.
MS is clearly gone for market share for the close of the fiscal year and the arcade SKU is part of that strategy to grab market share with a much cheaper scaled down version of the closest PS3 equivalent which is the 360 premium or pro.
It needs to sell a whole lot more of the cheaper SKU to meet expected revenue or turnover and retain margins. The media problem Sony ...
How did the review get through the QC process on IGN? That is one hell of a foul up but kudos to IGN for at least admitting it and doing something about it - Gamespot are you watching?
I really liked Mirrors Edge to be honest but $60 for a short game smacks more of EA poor marketing and sales strategy than anything to do with DICE's IP. Yeah I do hope they can do a longer follow up and really explore this one, but with a better publishing house.
They are selling it for $38 US here in the Philippines :)
This article is lame and I even own a PS3 - just pure speculation and drivel and as everyone has said - pure flamebait, we could just as easy see the end of anything next year based on some of this economy logic. All 3 consoles will continue to sell loads of hardware and software next year.
