Yes, and? I haven't spent any other money on my system since 2007. Best part is it's still compatible with all PC games. You can't exactly trade your PS3 for a PS4 and play TLOA.
@ DomceM
Yes, really. The second a game goes over 4GB VRAM usage, the TI's performance will dive. It's unfortunate that it's more expensive than the TI, but it's a more well-rounded piece of hardware.
Lol.
I put a $400 Geforce 770 into my existing computer. I sold my Radeon 5970 for $325, so I only paid $75.
Still using an Intel Q6600 system from 2007.
Best part? Backwards and forwards compatible.
Is 2010 happening again?
There's a way to preview it. This forces Steam to launch the SteamOS version.
Exit steam completely.
Right-click on your Steam shortcut and select 'Properties'
Under "Target", put a space after the ending quotation mark, and paste these command line arguments: -bigpicture -steamos -testoobe
Oh, it's okay for a game developer to say gen7 looks like trash. But when PC users do it, it's being "elitist."
Gen7 has been holding gaming back for way too long.
Lulz.
While I'm typing this, the FFXIV benchmark is running in the background as a window. Having it in window mode and not focused reduces performance, but whatever.
Okay, it's done.

Those people are console fanboys. They're clamoring because they finally have decent hardware and think they can play on par with PC. 30FPS for a PC user is basically unplayable, not that this game ever falls below 60fps on any computer.
@ DomceM
BF4 at 4K peaks over 4GB VRAM. The 4GB 780ti's 336GB/s GDDR5 then pages to RAM, which runs at less than 30GB/s. The 6GB Titan has the upper hand in 4K, even if you don't realize it.
@ Beastforlifenoob
I like how you insinuate that a PC has to be upgraded to support the latest graphics card. That's like saying you have to upgrade your TV and couch every time you buy a new console. Since the biggest factors of game performa...
Except RAM speeds have an insignificant impact on game performance. DDR3 PC3-1333 (12.8GB/s) can beat PC3-2133 (17GB/s)

Instead of using GDDR5 for RAM, fix the real bottleneck: secondary storage. HDD are ~100MB/s and SDD are up to 600MB/s. But with the use of cheap DDR3 and a program like RAMDISK, you ...
@ IRetrouk
If you can't afford the $109 GDDR5 Radeon HD 7770, you can't afford a $400 PS4.
@ thextreme1
Except you don't have to upgrade, just like you don't have to upgrade your PS3 to the PS4 to play COD:G.
The difference is for PC users is that when multi-platform games stop supporting PS3/X360, PC users have the freedom to choose what level of fidelity. Don't want to upgrade? Turn down the graphical settings. Want to play at 1080p? A $250 will do it in 2013. $175 in 2014. $125 in 2015.
Another difference is that PC ...
2008 technology, here you come!
8GB isn't a lot. First, 1.5GB is reserved for the PS4 and 3GB for XBO.
Second, that 6.5GB and 5GB respective remaining supports the roles of both RAM and VRAM. Let's suppose a 1:2 usage ratio for simplicity's sake; that's 2.2GB and 1.7GB left for their respective system.
Thirdly, even though the systems use eSRAM and GDDR3 for RAM purposes, it doesn't actually matter. The difference between 12.8GB/s and 17GB/s DDR3 in games at 1080p is ins...
@ aquamala
But only up to 1080p. Anything higher is totally unnoticeable.
The Batman games wouldn't benefit from a GTA-sized world as much as a GTA game. The world is really just a hub to buildings that act as dungeons. Outside of story-driven events, all there is to do outside are beating up respawning groups of baddies, Riddler stuff, and a handful of side missions.
Arkham City was a good size that didn't feel chorish when a mission had you cross the map, but was designed well enough that it contained a lot of small things that could easi...
I can't decide what to get for the next Deus Ex: the upcoming $1000 Dell 4K monitor or the ASUS G-Sync monitor that has variable refresh rate up to 144Hz.
Either way will be better than 1080p/60 the PS4/XBO are limited to.
@ badz149
"Hey look, it's those PC elitists. Console users may not always get along, but at least we're not elitist about specs. Hey... is that a Nintendo console?! Get the fak out of here! The Wii U is only for casuals losers!"
The hypocrisy.
Console fans do it all the time. Just look at how they treat the Wii and Wii U. It's considered a second-class console. Kids are making a huge deal about XBO games running at 900p and crying about parity.
Just imagine if all multi-platform games included the Wii U. Not every developer will make multiple versions.
edit- Also, I'm a modder, so that makes me a developer who hasn't sold out.
Also 2, my card cost as much as a PS4. I ...
