They are both very different games. R2 is more similar to Halo3 than to Gears other than storyline in which R2 and Geow2 are similar.

Since it is Mark Rein anticipating it, the game is probably an FPS or TPS because those seem to be the games that he concentrates on.

GOW3 and MGS4 aren't even out yet why would they be on metacritic. In addition a game doesn't need perfect reviews to be good. And if you look at the scores for the previous games you will see that they are very good. GOW is 94 and GOW2 is 93 I believe. Also MGS 1 94 MGS2 96 MGS 3 94 so I usually don't post scores, but you have forced me.
