The future is crossplay like it or hate it.
Lets see, with today PC hardware you can't achieve 4k/60FPS on highest settings (for 80% of the AAA games on the market) unless you spend more than 2000-2500$, in what world a 500$ console can achieve that.
Even with optimization and 2 years launch day from now (technology will advance and prices will drop) 4k/60FPS is just not possible without sacrificing graphic fidelity like shaders/textures...

I'm no Xbox or Nintendo fan, I own both PS4 and XboxOne. I mainly play on PC. But I tend to use my PS4 more than Xbox and that doesn't make me a fanboy.
I really don't understand Sony choice on this matter.

I really don't see why Sony can't do Crossplay in first place, if your buying a PS4 over an Xbox one it's mainly for exclusives which Sony is good at, Crossplay will not affect sales in the end

In my simple opinion if a game can be played in singleplayer even if it has a an online mode no way in hell it should be always online, I live in a third world country(Tunisia) and my internet connection isn't that good, most of the time I rely on 4G, making me go online to play a single player game is utter shit.

If you're an indie dev studio and you're game is open world, just stick with Unity 5 engine.
UE4 needs alot of work and optimization for an open world game.
If RDR 2 is out in 2018, even GoW can't win the goty against it. It's the most anticipated title this generation and no game will come close.
