Dont get me wrong, it does do those formats, but it decodes them on the fly into PCM before it sends the audio to the receiver, that's all i was saying. Although PCM is lossless, the output levels to the speakers are a little lower and the LFE channel is degraded resulting in lifeless bass levels.
I only got my 980ti last year, so wont be upgrading till 2018 at least, dunno maybe the 1080ti might make me jump earlier.
I think it's only nvid cards that are suffering, from my experience, dx12 is better suited for amd cards as at it's core is Mantle, a amd made api.
How exactly is it a "bad build PC"?
I had problems running this on my i7@4.5ghz, 12gb ram and OC GTX980ti, microstutter was terrible to the point where it's unplayable, the only stable way to play was at 1080p@30 at medium settings, complete waste of my rigs resources. I have got a refund from ms, lets hope Gears doesnt suffer from similar issues.
As per usual, another poorly optimised console port.
It's the father off all modern horror games in my opinion, scared the crap out of me when i played it on Playstation all those years ago.
I dont have either, so cool.
Sony have stepped it up in the last couple months with there PS+ offerings.
Remember the hype for that as well.
Lucky you, got my 4K 18 months ago, unfortunately it doesn't do HDR and my missis will never let me get a new one. Lol
I have the orig PS4 but changed the black HDD cover for a red HDD cover, looks amazing.
To be fair, what exactly did DX12 bring to the game?
@Eonjay
I thought DX12 was supposed to lower spec requirements while increasing performance of games, of the handful of games that utilise dx12, all i have seen is an increase in recommended spec requirements and poor performance from games.
@Johndoe
Jeez, dx11 is way better on BF1.
multiple GPU's
SLI
Crossfire
That's what got me hooked on Persona, looking forward to Persona 5.
"Also, the Xbox One S is the only console with 4K Ultra HD Blueray capabilities"
Yes, it's the only console with a UHD drive in it and at a fantastic price, but keep in mind it still does not pass through HD audio formats such as DTS-HD and True-HD, instead decoding to PCM which lowers LFE and speaker level outputs to all channels.
Cheers Fella, been watching a few GofW4 vids on Youtube, liking what i've seen so far.
lol, the VR scene is about to explode with the imminent release of PSVR in a couple of weeks.
Sales have stalled on Vive and Rift due to the fact that casuals will not spend £600 plus on a VR headset, only the hardcore PC gamers bought those VR units.
The PSVR is an affordable entry into VR for most gamers, while not at the same spec level as it's bigger brothers, it still packs quite a punch and has been getting rave reviews from media outlets...
@poppinslops
Alot of people on here are still needlessly bashing DC based on two year old views, so well done for admitting that, alot of peeps on here never would. :)
DC rightfully deserved those crappy reviews as the launch was a disaster, dispite the online issues, the SP worked well but was still confounded by aggressive AI and strong rubber banding, but over the two years since, Sony and EVO have worked hard to turn DC into a amazing racer which dese...
Hey Chris,
Can you recommend this to a guy who has played very little of Gears(were talking about Gears 1 all those years ago), i'am not a big MP player and prefer SP games.
BTW, I had to get a refund from MS for FH3 due to micro stutter issues making the game unplayable, so i have £50 burning a hole in my MS account.
Except it is, The Last of Us will run 4K@30 native.

@Fishy
The remastered version also includes updated textures and additional AA effects which the PS3 version did not have.
Besides, it's still a 4K native game, contrary to what the OP said.
You wont get any of the HD audio formats using optical, all HD audio would be down sampled into DTS or Dolby Surround using a optical cable. Neither would you get over 5.1, optical just doesn't have the bandwidth.
