Good to see their indie output is slowing down, there are a few gems but when the store is plastered with some low quality pixel 2D platformer that's been pushed out by people with little talent then it ruins things.

BotW isn't even the best game to have come out this year, it only leaves an extremely good first impression that slowly gets more and more unsatisfied the more time you sink into it.

FFXIII was awful, the cast was bland and kept going on about Lightning whenever she didn't have screen time. The world was a massive step back for the series, and the plot was just tedious at best.
I'm amazed it spawned so many direct sequels when actually decent FF titles like XII only got a spin off DS game. At the least Type-0 was somehow able to salvage the world.
You're forgetting that here a lot of people's first MH game was on a Nintendo console/handheld. That's why they've got this strange notion that it's a Nintendo franchise and that Nintendo have any say whatsoever as to where the franchise goes.

Voice chat ran by a second device is an awful idea, and it shows how poorly Nintendo fare in online capabilities.
Both the PSP and Vita are capable of voice chat, the Vita offering party chat capabilities and some excellent online services for a portable device.

The article mentions online only game, Destiny 2. The Switch doesn't have voice chat and is still using friend codes. It's archaic, the Xbox 360 had better online than it.
Nintendo consoles are excellent for local co-op, I use mine for Friday night food and mario kart with friends. But what they're awful for is online play, and that's exactly what developers and publishers have been moving more and more to since the last generation.
The Xbone and PS4 were instantly getting ports of the latest big name franchises alongside the last generation systems. It only took one or two games from the franchises and they had flat out jumped ship to our current generation.
The other systems didn't have to wait a couple of years at all.
On their detach video they left out the part where you spend 5 minutes struggling against the controller trying to get it off.
Mine are sat extremely tight against the controller and pressing the release button doesn't help it remove in the slightest.
