Nintendo is stubborn and doesn't realize that they have little influence on the gaming ...
For me there are just too many games that I still haven't played this generation. I own PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U so I don't really feel the need to go out an purchase a brand new console until Halo 5 and Uncharted 4 come out. Then I'll be buying both systems so I can get my gaming on.
Another reason that this generation is not exciting to me is that my PC already has Next Gen Graphics so it really all comes down to the games which include the Nintendo exclusives...
Rare has a lot of IPs that can generate money for Micro$oft. I would love to see a Diddy Kong Racing reboot with Master Chief. How about a genuine sequel to Banjo and tootie? It may not be the same team, but I am sure they could come up with an enjoyable experience for their old games.
It is so easy to buy games now-a-days that I just buy the games. It is safer and I don't have to worry about any warnings from my ISP...Well okay I did download game of thrones :)
Yep this game alone warrants a Xbone purchase from me.
For the WiiU and PC, this is exciting news. I am buying this as soon as I can for my PC. I still play Gran Turismo on my PS3, but my computer feels lonely when I am in the mood to race!
I plan on picking up a PS4 just for this game. Then I'll end up playing The Last of Us Remastered as well. Naughty Dog is one of the best developers out there at this time.
The add also shows a $50 gift card when you buy the Xbone. That will make it $350. Too bad I don't care for any of the games right now. I'm talking about you Halo!
It will always be about the games for me. I can't wait to play Uncharted 4, Halo 5, and the new Smash Brothers. While I am ultimately a PC Gamer I will admit that I will probably end up getting all the systems as games I want to play get released. While PCs do win on the graphical front, consoles have a much larger community.
Games on PC are much cheaper than games on console. But the fact remains if you want superior graphics get a PC.
Now I will admit that the online community for FPS for console is greatly bigger than that of the PC, so I can't do without my consoles.
If you look at it from a games perspective, then gamers in general have lots of good games to play. I love my Wii U, and I play it constantly with my kids. However, Uncharted 4 means I need to get a PS4, and I am definitely getting the Master Chief Edition of Halo as I missed the first two of the franchise.
So even though the sales figures have not been strong with Wii U, I still have some great games to play on it :)
I love Nintendo's commitment to local co-op. There is nothing more fun than sitting down with a group of friends and playing together.
I am sure this game will be fun.
I can't wait to play Halo 5, so I'll end up getting one eventually!
Retro gaming is the best :)
I think it was the 1990's were Lego was struggling to make money after their patients expired. They ended up moving into the media arena and have become more popular than ever. Honestly the Lego Movie was a blast, but taking a step back it is really long commercial. I think Nintendo would be wise to consider other forms of media to expand their revenue avenues.
I guess star wars will be next?
I think that everyone can agree that Nintendo has always done things their way. Whether this has benefited them or not is up for debate, but lets all face it, gaming is all about the games. You buy Nintendo for Nintendo Games, Sony for Sony games, and Xbox for Xbox games.
I for one am super excited about Super Smash Brothers for Wii U, and rest assured I'll end up buying the game, however, if you prefer a different game then as one gamer to the next buy the games that...
I think this would be true of most gamers. There are tones of games I've bought for Xbox or ps3 that I have not yet touched yet I continue to buy games. There is a good picture on the web of a girl who has a closet full of shoes claiming she doesn't have any to wear. Then it shows a dude with a closet full of games claiming he has nothing to play. It's an awesome time to be a gamer!
While the cost of entry is higher on PC, the long term investment PC wins. I have over 100 games now for my PC for a little over $100. Games like Mass Effect series, Battlefield 4, Borderlands 2, and Bioshock infinite. The most have spent on a game is $20 for battlefield 4 due to an Origin sale @ Christmas.
I would love to see some kind of analysis of the true cost of gaming on each platform, as I honestly have a great library of games on PC that are super bargin prices. ...
Still too early for me.
