Wow. This generation's media bias conspiracy theories are now being pre-emptively applied to next generation. I guess it was only a matter of time. Funny how supporters of Sony are the ONLY ones who seem to believe conspiracy theories.
Well, the fact that they're still "rounding up answers" clearly means that what they said at the reveal isn't confirmed. Otherwise, there would be no reason to seek new answers.
The WiiU has 4X the amount of RAM as the PS3 and 360, yet it's games don't look better, or have more depth than, games for the PS3 and 360. Plus, the WiiU RAM is from 2012, while PS3 and 360 RAM is from 2005-2006.
If the amount or type of really RAM made a noticeable difference in performance, we'd know it already.
Right on cue, DragonKnight is imagining ONLY the worst case scenario, then portraying it like it's 100% fact. At the same time he's acting as corporate apologist for other companies - ones that he supports - that have done similar things.
You won't get agrees or bubbles because this is N4G, but your comments were spot on.
Funny how Sony ALWAYS gets the benefit of the doubt when it comes to their anti-consumer practices, but when it comes to MS, people like DragonKnight ALWAYS imagine the worst-case scenario, then act as if that scenario has already been proven true.
Sony has already passed the buck and said "it's up to the publishers". What good is a petition if Sony claims that they have no control over the issue to begin with?
Also, if it's up to the publishers to implement DRM, then the PS4 is obviously capable of doing it, regardless of whether or not it can be used offline.
Sony may just be doing the smart thing and letting MS take all of the heat now for DRM. Then, when the issue cools off, the...
Before PS2 was released, governments (including Japan's) were concerned that it's components could be used for military uses. There was worry for a while when it was learned that Iraq was importing thousands of PS2's, as it was believed that the PS2's could be used to launch missiles.
Once the PS2 was released, and all of the facts were ...
In 5 months, we'll actually know all the facts. We won't need blogs full of suppositions and quotes taken out of context. Facts > opinions any day. We'll also know the full details of competing consoles, so we'll have a complete understanding of who accepts what.
Funny how this blog got approved less than 10 minutes after it was posted in the pending section. I guess I have a lot to learn about the approval process here.
I'm not disputing that the Kinect must be ATTACHED to the Xbox One. That's irrelevant. It just means that every game will likely have some sort of Kinect functionality built in, whether mandatory or optional (just like many 360 games already have). Where you are wrong is when you say Kinect is "always listening". You've taken a quote out of context and applied your own negative phrasing to it.
Phil Harrison said "Kinect is always listening for s...
Phil Harrison didn't say that the Kinect would be "always listening" as you claim. You've just taken his quote out of context, and applied your own negative phrasing to it. He said "Kinect will be always listening for specific voice cues".
It's no different than voice activated radio or Bluetooth controls in a new car. They can recognize only certain keywords that make them function.
Where did you hear that Kinect must always be turned on? When you're done playing, and you power off the console, are you saying Kinect will remain powered on? That the power must stay on 24 hours a day?
After the 360's penchant for overheating when left on too long, do you suddenly believe that MS has developed a technology that will allow a console or peripheral to stay on 24 hours a day with no issues? That's giving MS WAY too much credit, as their track rec...
Take off the tinfoil hat already. These paranoid conspiracy theories are absolutely ridiculous.
"Scrutiny of Kinect"?? That's one of the most delusional things I've EVER read.
Are you afraid of cell phones too? After all, they are always connected, and they're designed to transmit everything you say. Some people are just desperate to find ANY reason to hate on MS.
"The whole "Used Game Fee" may be true; who knows? But for you to assume Sony will do the same through the Publishers (EA,ACTIVISION,UBISOFT, ETC) is not a fair statement. Microsoft will profit all of the "used game fee", while Sony may not even get a cent for it from the publishers"
The whole used game "fee" clearly is publisher driven. Anyone who has followed gaming for the past few years knows that publishers have been complaining...
Your rant against Xbox fans is pretty one sided. Sure there are fans who defend everything they do, but that's the same of any console. When you are an extreme fanboy, you don't see clearly when things are bad. An unbiased gamer knows that Sony, Nintendo, and MS have ALL done bad things. There are people who blindly defend Sony and Nintendo as well despite their questionable practices.
You also can't blame COD on Xbox gamers. The COD franchise gained it's...
While he did say that, MS execs seemed clueless this week. I wouldn't take any one statement issued this week as "official word" of anything. It doesn't look good for MS that they can't get their stories straight, and their execs are constantly issuing conflicting statements, but at least it leaves some hope that the worst case scenario won't happen.
According to the article, it now seems like the authentication checks are more of a piracy preventi...
"Don't get me wrong, it is exciting, but I'm not sure if I actually want to be THAT immersed or as connected as the developers said that it WOULD allow."
I feel the same way. I watch a lot of TV, play a lot of games, and I'm online a lot. However, I've never wished that I could do all of those things in the way that MS has designed the Xbox One. When I want to search for a program, it takes just a few clicks of my remote. It's already simpl...
My browser's acting up, and it wouldn't let me edit to continue, so here's the rest of my post.
Used games are not "blocked" on either console. It's simply a matter of how much it will cost you to play that used game. Maybe there will be some sort of updated "online pass" program for PS4 games, but as I said before, I refuse to believe that publishers would charge more to play a used game on one system than they would on another. If I&...
